On December 1 MediaTek announced an updated generation of the flagship chipset Helio X20 series, which is represented by models Helio X23 and Helio X27. The fresh offerings are designed to raise the high performance bar set by the Helio X20/X25 chipsets to a new level. In particular, the Helio X27 MT6797X is built, like its predecessors, on a three-cluster architecture. It has two powerful Cortex-A72 cores operating at a maximum frequency of 2.6 GHz, and two auxiliary quartet of Cortex-A53 cores at 2 GHz and 1.6 GHz respectively. For performance in games is responsible video gas pedal ARM Mali-T880 with four cores, functioning at a frequency of up to 875 MHz.
MediaTek has also worked to improve the quality of mobile photography. Helio X27 includes the MediaTek Imagiq image processor with dual camera modules with a combination of monochrome and RGB sensors, which reduces response time and noise, while increasing the quality of color and contrast of the resulting images.
Many MediaTek partners have already expressed interest in the Helio X27, but the first smartphone built on this promising development will be the UMi Z. New product to be released in December. Details on other specifications and price will be announced in the very near future.
UMi Plus E
We note that the release of UMi Z on Helio X27 becomes the second project that the company introduces to the market the new MediaTek. Most recently introduced the UMi Plus E, the world’s first Helio P20-powered device. This smartphone offers the user 6 GB of RAM, a high-quality Full HD display from Sharp, a 13 MP Samsung camera with 4K video recording, a 4000 mAh battery with Pump Express+ fast charging function and a matte black aluminum and glass body.
Can you provide more information on the UMi Z smartphone? I’m curious to know its specifications and features as the first MediaTek Helio X27 powered phone. Also, how does it compare to other smartphones currently available in the market?
