Ultrasone Signature DJ: professional headphones for DJs

With carefully selected 50mm Mylar transducers with 32 ohms impedance and 115dB SPL, these headphones offer precise, unencumbered sound for maximum control throughout your set. The company’s engineers focus on top-notch craftsmanship, coupled with durable and stunningly reliable components. So the Signature DJ offers you amazing comfort, a custom fit and ultimate durability for extreme turntable sets.

Willenbach, September 25, 2012 – All DJs in love with their work have something in common – a passionate desire to find a pair of headphones that is superior to all other headphones. Over the years the Ultrasone team has met many famous DJ’s and listened to their every word. The result of these meetings was a design project for a unique pair of headphones based on the wishes of experienced musicians. Introducing the Signature DJ headphones, the second model in the Signature line which officially premiered in 2011 . Like all high end Edition models, these headphones are hand assembled in Bavaria, at Ultrasone’s manufacturing facility.

Passion in the name of extreme

The Signature DJ headphones are designed for the extreme conditions DJs have to work in. The resilient headband is reinforced by the metal insert. Cup covers in durable plastic and scratch-resistant glass a Signature Series design feature . The three point cup fit gives unbeatable versatility of use: You can wear them in a classic fit or in the typical DJ set-up on one ear. The hard-wearing, soft leather of Ethiopian long-haired sheep wasn’t chosen for these headphones by accident – combined with the soft cushioning of the ear cushion itself and the superior comfort rating of the headphones for hours on end, your ears won’t tire of the Signature DJ. Even after years of use, the material of the ear cushions does not age!

Ultrasone paid special attention to the headphone cables: thanks to the bayonet fitting snap connector on the left ear cup the cable is quick and easy to replace. Two different cables come with the headphones: a 3m twisted cable with gold-plated stereo jack 6.3mm and a 1.2m cable with mini 3.5mm jack. By including a 3.5mm jack cable as standard, Ultrasone is taking into consideration the fact that more and more professionals are now working directly on their notebooks, without external audio devices. The built-in microphone in the cable makes the headphones truly versatile – use them as a headset with laptops, cell phones or tablets.

More volume for better integration

Along with a special housing, Ultrasone engineers developed a 50mm Mylar diaphragm, which, with its 32 ohm impedance and 115dB sound pressure, provides unloaded playback even at maximum volume levels. So the Signature DJ is an optimally equipped headphone for live performances. Thanks to S-Logic Plus technology, you’ll also appreciate this pair when listening at low volume – the decentralized arrangement of the drivers ensures a natural reflection of the sound signal inside your ear canal – so you get a rich stereo picture with outstanding sound depth. Because the volume is perceived to be 3 to 4 dB higher than it really is, you can listen to music at a lower volume. The closed-back design delivers precise bass reproduction with clean mids and smooth highs. Full frequency range from 5 to 32 000 Hz.

“All DJs who are ardently in love with their work have one thing in common – a pair of headphones designed specifically for them. These unique Signature DJ headphones are the quintessential expression of our years of experience in the professional music business and our passion for high quality products,” says Michael Zirkel, COO of Ultrasone. He continues, “These headphones were created specifically for use in clubs-they’re the perfect equipment for professional DJs. Many of our DJ endorsers shared their valuable experience with us to design this pair – Ultrasone DJ. These are the first professional DJ headphones created by hand”.

Signature DJ headphones are handmade in Villenbach, Bavaria. In the final stages of production, each pair is stamped with an individual serial number. Specially designed carrying case, included in the package, is ideal for transportation and storage.
