Toshiba Europe announces the launch of the CANVIO for Smartphones, an innovative portable storage solution. When connected to an Android™ phone, the novelty is capable of backing up data and charging the connected device.

It was found that only a small percentage of smartphone owners back up their data, and only 8% regularly updates them according to AVAST survey . CANVIO for Smartphone charges and backs up your smartphone. So users can be absolutely safe for their important information – photos, videos, music, documents and contacts. Once the corresponding feature is enabled in the intuitive Android app, backups will be created automatically each time the smartphone is connected to the drive. No user intervention required.
In addition to charging and backing up smartphone data, CANVIO for Smartphone allows users to manage their data from a dedicated Android app. Users can also use the drive to transfer data from an old smartphone to a new one in just a few taps. For PC owners, the CANVIO for Smartphone is a convenient external hard drive to which important data can be copied via USB Type-A or USB Type-C™ interface. Crucially, CANVIO for Smartphone can be used to store information from multiple devices, whose owners will be able to back up their files and share them.
