Toshiba introduces Canvio Alu portable drive

Toshiba Europe’s storage peripheral division today announced the launch of the new Canvio Alu USB 3-compatible high-speed portable storage drive.0. Users don’t have to worry about data safety because of the drive’s robust aluminium casing and automatic backup function. Canvio Alu also features a built-in shock sensor and ramp loading technology to reduce the risk of data corruption upon impact or dropping.

Canvio Alu will be available in black and silver. Stylish and impressive up to 2TB capacity will make the drive the perfect companion for travel, school, home or any other place.

NTI’s intuitive software backup solution allows Canvio Alu to back up your data automatically and easily restore up to 2TB of data when needed. NTI continuously scans the folders and files on the drive, offering an easy, customizable way to save exactly what you need.

Program can also be used to schedule automatic backups. Canvio Alu features a high-speed USB 3 interface.0 and, at the same time, is compatible with the previous generation USB 2 ports.0.

Arnaud Bonvarle, general manager of Toshiba’s European storage division emphasizes: In today’s information-driven world, you need a storage solution that combines the latest design ideas with reliability and speed,” said Bonvarle. The Canvio Alu drive has been developed to combine functionality and aesthetics in a way that provides consumers a reliable and stylish means of storing and protecting important information.

Canvio Alu drive will go on sale in America starting September at a manufacturer’s recommendation price of 2,500 Dollars for a 500 GB model, 3,250 Dollars for a 1 TB model, and 5,150 Dollars for a 2 TB model. All models come in a compact aluminum enclosure.

Drive will be compatible with Microsoft Windows 8 operating system.1, 8 and 7, with a maximum transfer rate of 5 Gb/s. Will also support HFS+ formatting for use with Apple products. All drives are backed by a two-year limited warranty.
