The new PENTAX K-70. Compact bundle with dust and waterproof HD PENTAX-DA 18-50mm lens

Ricoh Imaging has introduced a new PENTAX K-70 equipped with the HD PENTAX-DA 18-50mm lens. The HD PENTAX-DA 18-50mm is the smallest lens with a unique lens and frame folding mechanism! In the parking position its length is only 41 mm. Otherwise, it’s a classic zoom lens with dust and water resistance that lets it weather all kinds of surprises: snow, rain, fog, etc.

In addition to the ultra-compact body, the lens boasts Pentax’s proprietary HD Coating, ultra-low dispersion elements and aspherical elements in the optical scheme, which effectively reduce optical aberrations and produce crisp sharp high-contrast images. The built-in DC-motor makes the autofocus silent and smooth.

The HD PENTAX-DA 18-50mm is designed to be a compact, easy-to-use companion to the dust and waterproof Pentax DSLR, which makes it ideal for outdoor photography when traveling, hiking, vacationing near water, or playing sports.

HD PENTAX-DA 18-50mm is the world’s smallest variable focal length lens for small DSLR cameras at 41mm, making it an indispensable compact travel zoom lens, plus the classic 18-50mm focal length covers almost the entire range of common photographic subjects. Converted to 35 mm film format, this zoom lens covers focal lengths from 27.5 mm to 76.5 mm.

Rugged, protective body with 9 gaskets effectively protects the lens from moisture. The lens is the perfect companion to Pentax dustproof DSLR cameras, flash units and accessories.

The presence of super-low dispersion and aspherical elements in the optical circuitry, consisting of 11 elements in eight groups, allows you to effectively compensate for various kinds of optical distortion to produce contrasty photos with excellent detail throughout the frame.

The lens surfaces are coated with a multi-layer antireflection coating and have a special HD Coating – now common in Pentax premium lenses. It guarantees a higher and more uniform transmittance throughout the visible light range, resulting in high-contrast images with correct color reproduction without stray reflections, even in low-light or backlit conditions.

The lens features Pentax’s development of the Quick-Shift system, which allows the user to instantly switch to manual focus mode after autofocus is complete by simply turning the focus ring, without having to switch modes on the camera body.

  • Special hydrophobic SP Super Protect front lens protects the lens from dirt and makes cleaning the optics easier.

  • Rounded aperture diaphragm blades for beautiful blurring of subjects outside the field of view.
