The new KM 62xx hobs with ExtraSpeed by Miele

40 years ago, cookware maker Imperial revolutionized the kitchen by introducing the first glass ceramic cooktop. Miele continues to push the limits of technology and introduces a new generation of KM 62xx series cooktops with ExtraSpeed and enhanced HiLight heating element technology. By far the fastest electric hobs in the world after induction hobs.

Miele is launching new ways of using HiLight technology, the potential of which was previously thought to be exhausted. The new Miele KM 62xx HiLight hobs are equipped with the unique ExtraSpeed function. In every model of the new series there is a special fast boiling zone marked “ExtraSpeed. There is no need to change the settings: Simply select the highest power level and the ExtraSpeed function switches on automatically.

ExtraSpeed significantly reduces cooking time. With Miele KM 62xx hobs it takes only 11 minutes to boil three liters of water. 21 sec., While the boiling time on a conventional stove is a third longer, at 17 min, it boils in a fraction of the time it would take to boil on a conventional stove. 28 sec. This is due to many factors. Firstly, the infrared heating elements in HiLight hobs are more powerful than their predecessors. Secondly, they are equipped with more efficient temperature sensors. A key advantage of the KM 62xx hobs is the intelligent heating of the HiLight element: When you start cooking at full speed, the large double-circuit heating element intermittently switches the inner ring off, while the outer ring operates almost continuously.

Users will be delighted by the new safety function, which provides protection for pots and pans. The heating element switches itself off automatically when the pot is heated without any content, its base does not lie flat on the hob, the cookware material has poor thermal conductivity, or when there is no cookware on the cooking zone. The safety feature is especially important with Extra Speed. Also, despite their high power, ExtraSpeed cooking elements are much more economical than conventional heating elements, thanks to the fast boiling time.

Miele expects to see a surge in popularity of HiLight cooking with the introduction of the new ExtraSpeed hobs. Although the market for induction cooktops is steadily growing, conventional infrared heaters have for years had the biggest market share in Europe. Stoves with HiLight are very popular with users, because these devices are cheaper than induction models. And with the new ExtraSpeed models there is no need to buy special cookware.

New models of electric HiLight burners with ExtraSpeed: KM 6206, KM 6207, KM 6212, KM 6215, KM 6230.

Cooking even faster – with Miele ExtraSpeed.

With the Miele KM 62xx hobs it takes a third less time than a conventional HiLight hob to boil three liters of water.

New ExtraSpeed hobs bring water to boil in 11 minutes. 21 sec., Much quicker than on other similarly heated inserts 14 min , which means that the knife penetration time is much shorter than on other similarly heated inserts 4 min . 36 sec .
