The Miele stove hood starts on command from the hob

In the kitchen, the hob and hood need to be in perfect harmony to ensure the best possible cooking conditions for tasty meals. The basic prerequisite for effective interaction is that the two appliances must be matched in size and performance.

Ideally place the hood 65-75 cm above the cooktop. The Con@ctivity system from Miele makes the team work even better.

Electric panels

Con@ctivity, an innovative system for communication between the hood and the hob, automatically adjusts the suction power of the hood according to the settings of the hob. The appliances have communication modules that can also be retrofitted.

Con@ctivity is an innovative technology developed by Miele in Germany, which automatically adjusts the suction power of the hood according to the power of the hob.

In practice, this works like this: after switching on the stove hob, the cooker hood light switches on after a short time delay. After a few seconds, the fan is activated, precisely matched to the number and power level of the burners in operation.

If the hob power is changed, so is the hood power level. Based on the hob settings, the Con@ctivity system allows you to distinguish between, say, roasting meat or a long braising process.

Con@ctivity offers a number of practical advantages: You can concentrate fully on the cooking process, as the hood operates completely independently.

No greasy hand marks are left on the control panel because the hood does not need to be adjusted. You don’t need to remember to switch the appliance off when you finish cooking, either – it happens automatically.

Communication is achieved via Con@ctivity modules which can be easily integrated into the appliances. Information is exchanged over the power line Powerline technology , so that no additional wiring is required. If you like, you can switch to manual control of the appliances.

Almost all Miele cooker hoods and hobs can be equipped with Con@ctivity, enabling a wide range of possible combinations.

Big appliances for the kitchen

Con@ctivity requires a hood, a cooktop and therefore a communication module to be integrated into the appliance. Communication is through the existing power grid, with no need for additional cabling. The settings for the power level of the cooking zones are transmitted to the hood, which automatically adjusts the air intake capacity accordingly.

Is it possible to control the Miele stove hood from a separate control panel or app, or does it only start on command from the hob?

Yes, it is possible to control the Miele stove hood from a separate control panel or app. Some Miele stove hoods come equipped with WiFi connectivity or can be connected to a Miele@mobile app, allowing users to control the hood remotely. This means you can start and adjust the settings of the hood independently from the hob, giving you more flexibility and convenience in managing your kitchen ventilation system.
