A host of features that cameramen and photographers will appreciate

The new 10.2 megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor with Dual Native ISO technology and Venus Engine image processor faithfully reproduces even the darkest parts of the image, enabling sensitivities up to ISO 51200 – especially important when shooting in low light. And when shooting movies, you no longer have to worry about noise in the picture, because the new Dual Native ISO technology effectively suppresses it.

Just like professional camcorders, LUMIX GH5S can synchronize timecode via Time Code IN/OUT connector and supplied coaxial cable. You can also use the LUMIX GH5S as a timecode generator for other GH5S cameras and professional camcorders. The Timecode Sync function makes it easy for a camera crew to sync video and sound with another camera or audio recorder, making multi-camera shooting much easier.

The new sensor also allows different aspect ratios 4:3, 17:9, 16:9 and 3:2 with the same viewing angle. Hence fast switching between different formats, making post-processing easier. The camera also shoots RAW 14-bit photos, giving you more options for professional editing.

The previous model, LUMIX GH5, was the first mirror-less digital camera to capture 4K 60p 50p videos and the new LUMIX GH5S is the first camera to support Cinema 4K 4096×2160 resolution. The GH5S can also record in 4:2:2 10-bit, which is often used in movie productions, resulting in more accurate color reproduction. There’s also support for 4:2:2 10-bit 400 Mbps All-Intra in 4K 30p/25p/24p and C4K 24p and 200 Mbps All-Intra in Full HD, with no time limit for both Full HD and 4K video recording. The LUMIX GH5S is also compatible with 4K HDR video in Hybrid Log Gamma HLG mode. Support for 4K HEVC video recording is also available, allowing video playback on compatible equipment, such as Panasonic 4K HDR televisions.

Can shoot high frame rate video at up to 60 fps in C4K/4K max slow motion . 2.5× and up to 240, fps in FHD resolution deceleration max. 7.5× , as well as support for V-LogL.

DFD Depth From Defocus technology and high-speed signal transmission have made it possible to realize the highest speed of focusing approximately 0.07 sec and continuous shooting: 12 AFS 8 AFC fps in 12 bit RAW format and 11 AFS 7 AFC fps in 14 bit RAW format. And the 4K PHOTO mode allows you to take pictures at 60 fps with 8MP resolution.

and a revamped Venus Engine image processor. It offers incredible low-light performance, capable of shooting at ISO up to 51200. With 4K video recording at 60fps, it seems like a professional filmmaker’s dream. But does the lower MP count affect the overall image quality compared to other cameras in its price range? How does it fare in terms of dynamic range and color accuracy? And is the higher sensitivity sensor really worth the trade-off?
