The iron: three good tips

Donā€™t aim at the laundry right away

Philips

Never point the steam jet immediately at your laundry when you begin using a new iron, as the steam chamber of a new iron can get dirty. The correct procedure for working with an iron is: pour water into the reservoir and let the steam out ā€“ now the iron is completely ready for use.

Either water or a socket

You should only pour water into or out of the ironā€™s reservoir when it is unplugged. This is really important, as your safety should not depend on your carelessness.

Store without steam

When the ironing process is finished, all company experts recommend that the iron be emptied, the steam generator handle be placed in the ā€œno steamā€ position, and that the iron be kept in the vertical position in a cool place.

Why the rigours? If you donā€™t set the ā€œno steamā€ mode, the residual water will overflow into the ironā€™s soleplate and when you turn on the appliance later, it can cause burns. In addition, residual water droplets can leak out.

You put the iron in an upright position to avoid scratches, stains, and rust on the soleplate.
