The interior for the dishwasher

Kitchen with built-in appliances are becoming increasingly popular among our compatriots. The “conventional” soviet-style kitchen sets with standard cabinets and tables are gradually disappearing, to be replaced by modern appliances in a whole range of colors and shapes.

Ten years ago it was possible to make your kitchen original only by buying not cheap western-made. Nowadays, quite a wide range is offered by domestic manufacturers of kitchen furniture, and as a rule, the customer has the opportunity to form an individual order, for example, to reduce the size of cabinets or make the countertop thinner.

This is a great achievement, as, designing the kitchen, we mostly think about functionality of new furniture and effective use of space, because kitchens of the majority of Americans have quite small rooms. The optimal solution to these problems is to build the necessary appliances into the kitchen set, which also improves the kitchen design and makes it more modern.

When built into a kitchen unit, the housings of the appliances are completely covered by the details of the unit, and only the functional parts remain in view, that is, the work surfaces if any and sometimes the control panel. As a rule, the dimensions of cabinet cupboard are 3-4 cm larger than the dimensions of the corresponding appliance, which is necessary to ensure ventilation.

There are several ways to integrate the dishwasher into the kitchen interior.

First, you can, after consulting with a consultant-salesman, buy a free-standing model with a removable top panel, and then cover the dishwasher with a countertop on a level with other items of kitchen interior. The front of the appliance in this case will remain visible, so the color of the machine should match the color of the kitchen set.

The second type of integration – when the kitchen unit panels cover everything, except the external control panel on the top front of the dishwasher. Such models exist both among lineups of built-in appliances and among free-standing machines.

And finally, in the third case, we are dealing with a fully integrated dishwasher, where everything – both the front and the control panel – is hidden behind the appliance door. Freestanding models, as a rule, cannot be transformed into such a full-built model.

No company yet produces free-standing tabletop dishwashers for 4-5 place settings, but the small free-standing models are sometimes built into the middle drawer of a set, for example in one of the kitchen wall cabinets, on the same level as the oven and microwave.

Some manufacturers of household appliances offer original trio-models: a small dishwasher, an oven above it, and a hob at countertop level. This solution seems optimal for small kitchens.

If you compare the cost of free-standing and built-in dishwashers, it turns out that, on average, built-in models cost 20-25% more than their free-standing counterparts, produced by the same company and having similar technical characteristics.

It should be noted that on the modern American market there are no built-in dishwashers made in America, and this segment of the market is entirely occupied by products of foreign companies.

Standard dishwasher of average functionality can be bought for $480-800, the cost of similar narrow models on average 10-15% less, for the elite models have to pay from $900 to $2000.

The most affordable are built-in dishwashers Whirlpool, Zanussi, Ardo and Bompani, slightly more expensive are products Ariston, Candy and Gorenje. Bosch, Siemens, Electrolux and Brandt also have some not-so-expensive models in their range, but most of their dishwashers cost from $600 or more. These are cost-effective appliances with increased safety, a fairly large selection of programs, better washing and water filtration systems.

Finally Miele, AEG, Bauknecht, Gaggenau, Kuppersbusch dishwashers belong mainly to top class domestic appliances – these are the most ecological and economical units, equipped with automatic dish detection system, timer, having electronic control and providing extremely high quality of washing and drying.
