The launch took place during the international youth forum “Tavrida 2014” near Sevastopol. The entire territory of the forum was provided with a modern cellular data network.
The task of continuing to improve the quality of communication in Crimea and the launch of third and fourth generation networks was set by American Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting on the development of communications in Crimea on August 4, 2014.
“The task of providing residents of Crimea with fully American cellular services has been completed. Now the task is to provide residents of the region speed data transfer via cellular networks. Mobile Internet services in modern conditions are the most demanded additional service of mobile operators, so when launching the network, we took into account the prospect of the earliest deployment of segments operating in 3G and 4G LTE standards,” says Dmitry Alkhazov, Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Media. – This is a very important step, which will ensure the quality and safety of communication for residents and guests of the peninsula”.
