Controls

Standard for electric meat grinders: the wide button on the body, press the top part ON – the meat grinder turns on, in the middle part – turns off. On the meat grinder it says 5 kg for 2 min. That’s a huge output, really. It is clear that for such a result, you need to prepare: cut the meat of the highest grade in thin strips, set the grid with 7 mm holes, start the stopwatch and go for the record.

Hardly a necessity for a hostess in everyday life. That’s why I did not try to confirm or disprove the manufacturer’s claims. For me, it was much more interesting to see how many minutes in normal life I would spend on the preparation of minced meat for chops of 1-1, 5 kg of meat.

I grind pork, beef, chicken meat with this grinder. I even put a disc with small holes in it if I was making minced meat for chops, and a disc with big holes if I was making minced meat for sausages or sauces.

On average it took 30-40 s to process 1 kg of meat, the meat grinder is really fast.

Expert’s tip

If you want to turn tough meat into tender mince, then do as professional chefs advise: first set the disk with large holes, turn the meat. Then install the disk with the small holes and mince again. You can repeat this procedure.

The result will be tender, soft minced meat.

It is a very quiet grinder! And the sound it makes is low and non-irritating to the ear. For example, my cat, who does not like running machinery, did not run away from the kitchen when you turn on the Scarlett SC-MG45S61. And the housemates in the far room from the kitchen didn’t hear me making mincemeat.

Manufacturer specifies a peak power of 1800 watts. Naturally, the device works at lower power. When processing meat, the measured power ranged from 150 to 350 W. This was quite enough for shredding meat, and does not waste a lot of electricity.
