Our impressions: the operation, the design, the packaging process

Compact and the lightest model in the test, convenient for those who count every centimeter in the kitchen. Besides, if necessary such vacuum cleaner can be easily transported to country houses in a usual bag or it can be given for use to mother, girlfriend or neighbor.

The vacuum cleaner is easy to use: open the lid, put the edges of the bag, close and lock the lid with a little pressure to the right and left, select the function. Modes 2 – vacuuming and simple sealing without evacuating air, also has a “stop” button that allows you to stop any process. After vacuum sealing the machine stops and turns off automatically. To open the lid, press the buttons on the sides of the body.

Just like the vacuum tube maker that we tested, it has a non-American control panel: buttons, that activate the functions, are written in German and English, translation and explanations are given in the manual, light indication allows to see which function is selected and what happens. Functionality and controls are very similar to those of the CASO VC100 vacuum cleaner in this test.

Differences in general are three: the seam here is single, not double, the vacuum chamber is not removable in case of contamination it must be carefully wiped according to the instructions, can not be washed and the air pumping rate is lower by 25%: not 12 liters per minute, but for domestic vacuum cleaner this is normal: experts say that a good speed – from 9 liters per minute. In practice, there are no complaints about the quality of the seam, all evacuated by this model is preserved as well as packed with a double seam.

Perhaps with a longer storage time you could feel the difference. We didn’t have a stopwatch and the vacuum speed, but yes, it seemed to be a little slower, you can feel it if you pack a lot of stuff at once. Another advantage: This model is very quiet! It is also almost 2 times cheaper.

Test #1. Sausage

We are used to seeing sliced vacuum sealed savory or any kind of sausage, cheese, salted or smoked fish in the stores: convenient to store, convenient to serve. But the price of 1 kg of sliced and vacuum-sealed product is always 2-3 times higher than the price of the same product “by the piece”.

We wondered if it’s possible to create a vacuum pack for sausage at home so you don’t have to worry about cutting it, but quickly take it out and serve it when you need it. The result we liked it very much: the packaging turned out to be a sight to behold, the sausage was stored in it for 4 days, we have not experimented longer. Opened – smelled – everything is fine. Ate. No consequences.

Test #2. Sliced apples

The pie is scheduled for Tuesday night friends have promised to stop by after work , and I cut the apples for it on Sunday – this is possible? Yes, because the apples, nicely sliced evenly, will be vacuum sealed and stored in the refrigerator, because on Tuesday I also come home from work tired!

Instead of handling and cutting the apples it would be better to spend an extra 20 minutes on yourself: take a shower or a moisturizing mask…The dough, too, by the way, can be vacuumed if necessary, but I’ll use pre-made puff pastry. Result: apples safely “lived” in a vacuum for 2 days and most importantly – did not turn black, because there was no oxygen access to them.

Test #3. Meat

In general, the test went the same way as with the model CASO VC100, here, too, there is no mode for wet food. The problem is the same: you have to manage to put the steak in the bag correctly so that the edges don’t get wet where it will be sealed. Meat would probably be better wrapped in cling film. The pouches are also very dense, also recommended for cooking in them by sous vide technology. Lower evacuation speed, but this does not seem to have an impact on the quality of the steaks.

Test #4. Instructions

Clear, in good American, with pictures and clear diagrams explaining what the buttons and indicators mean. The format is a book of half an A4 sheet, the font is normal, not small. Well-described instructions for storing food, safety and maintenance of the appliance. There is a table with troubleshooting. On the last page there is information about the warranty. In a word, no complaints.
