OPPORTUNITIES

Operation, program and mode features.

Eight programs, three of which are ā€œdedicatedā€ to rice, and one to heating. This model used to have a non-American display, but now this has been fixed completely, and using the multicooker has become easy and pleasant. However, ā€œtranslation difficultiesā€ is better to specify. For example, the Porridge program was called Porridge, which means ā€œoatmealā€.

It is known that oatmeal is difficult to cook in a multicooker, because it literally makes the lid and the steam valve assault. For its cooking, it needs a very accurate temperature regime ā€“ gentle, so that the oatmeal doesnā€™t boil over, but enough to soften the flakes.

Porridge mode in this appliance is suitable for milk porridge and oatmeal with milk, in particular. No mode for buckwheat, but it cooks perfectly in quick or normal mode for rice. No frying program, but a light roast for soup can be made in the Quick.

This program, as it turns out, provides the appliance at full power, so it is suitable for light roasting of vegetables and fast baking even better than the Pie mode. It is possible to set the time in only three programs. No separate program for stewing. The instructions recommend using the Quick mode, but it is a short program that is not adjustable in time, and we would recommend the Porridge mode for stewing.

I liked the bowl of the multicooker, itā€™s quite thick and heavy, which shows the quality of materials and the ability to distribute heat well. The volume scale on the inside is very bright ā€“ convenient and clear. Not a single scratch appeared on it during the test, although we were not too careful. Iā€™d like to mention the removable inner part of the lid: and it is very easy to remove it: no need to turn around or disconnect the O-ring. Simply press the two special valves and you have it in your hands.

Scores:

Controls: minus 1 point for not being able to adjust the temperature in at least one of the modes. Total: 9 points.

Interface: 10 points for the large and ā€œresponsiveā€ buttons, full russification and clear writing.

Choice of programs: minus 1 point for the lack of programs Yogurt, Fry. Total: 8 points.

Price/performance ratio.

This multicooker is also good for dachas, where the wiring is weak: the low power will not hurt it and will save the budget. If you prefer to fry meat, fish or vegetables before stewing, cooking pilaf or soup, this is not your gadget, but itā€™s great for diet ā€“ stewed, boiled and steamed dishes. Lowest price ā€“ about 3000-3500 Dollars. ā€“ The maximum you can pay for the offered functions.

The test ā€œriceā€

Quick mode because you only cook 200g of rice. Steam starts to come out after literally 5 minutes. Cooking time 20 minutes, the consistency is perfect for sushi or side dishes but the rice is sticking to the bottom of the appliance. It is worth pouring a little more water or turning it off 1-2 minutes before the end of the program. Good: really fast and high quality, no need to watch, as in the usual programs for rice, where the 35-40 minute rice is often overcooked.

Scores: 9 points out of 10, minor flaws can be explained by the peculiarities of the rice variety.

Baking Test

The Kefir Bisquick in the Pie program took a long time to bake and turn 50+15 minutes . It was necessary because the topping was not baked at all after 50 minutes in the pan.

Interesting that the included cookbook contains many baking recipes and in all recommends using the Quick. Cooking the same biscuit again in this program gave undoubtedly better results: Two times 20 minutes each this is the time of the Quick mode ā€“ but still with a flip, after which we held the biscuit in the bowl for another 10 minutes. Total: the mode was turned on 3 times ā€“ 20 +20 +10 minutes. Of course, itā€™s faster than the Pie mode, but youā€™ll use this way unless the oven is completely unavailable.

Points: minus 3 points for the poor performance of the Pie program, plus 1 point for the ability to bake faster in the Quick program, minus 2 points for the need to flip the bake in both programs. Total: 6 points.

The ā€œfryingā€ test

There is no corresponding program, but we tried to fry meat in the programs Pie and Quick. Skinless and boneless chicken thigh was not cooked either, it was slowly cooked, but neither golden color, nor crust for 25 and 20 minutes, it was not possible to obtain.

Had to finish cooking it in another appliance. And in this one, already preheated, chopped onions were thrown: and the vegetables for the soup can be fried? It turned out that yes ā€“ but only in the Quick program: in 8 minutes the onion has reached translucency and smells very appetizing, which is required for soup or stew. Itā€™s slow cooking, of course, but it doesnā€™t burn.

Points: 5 points for ā€œhalf possibilitiesā€: vegetables can be lightly fried, meat ā€“ no.
