HOOVER AIRVOLUTION Xarion TAV 1620 011

Vacuum cleaner for dry cleaning

Hoover

ASKS: modern, high-tech and beautiful vacuum cleaner, unfortunately it has no possibility to park it vertically. Power and AIRVOLUTION cyclonic technology – an invaluable combination for quality deep cleaning. I would like to mention the overall thought-out details: everything is taken out – in and out – switched over very comfortably, without a slightest effort. Vacuum cleaner is protected from overheating, has a high rate of filtration.

RESULTS: some special designs in practice appear not so convenient: the 3 in 1 nozzle and the main too compact nozzle reduce speed of cleaning, and the location of the cyclone unit and the container deprives the model of vertical parking.

SUMMARY: modern, high-tech and beautiful vacuum cleaner, unfortunately, without the possibility of vertical parking.

Floor cleaning hard floor covering

Surface type: Parquet, linoleum and ceramic tiles.

Two nozzles are available for hard floors: a main brush and a parquet brush. The main nozzle is more compact than most vacuums tested, which is not very convenient. It covers a small amount of space in one go, increasing cleaning time. But the floor/mopper switch works flawlessly, gently and quickly, without the slightest bit of effort. The parquet mop has longer and softer bristles and is 3 cm longer than the main mop, so it has better coverage. Wooden floor really doesn’t suffer from contact with it, and cleaning goes faster.

Quality: 9 points.

Speed: 9 points.

Cleaning:

Carpet cleaning

The type of coverage, pile length: room rugs – 1 and 5 cm pile length, bathroom mat – 1 cm pile length.

We have used the main nozzle in carpet mode bristle brush removed . Its compact size combined with the high power of the vacuum cleaner was a positive factor for a carpet cleaning. It didn’t go as fast as I wanted, but the airflow was so concentrated that the carpet was perfectly clean. We shook it afterwards and we did not see any dust.

Quality: 10 points.

Speed: 8 points.

Cleaning upholstered furniture

Surface type: velour.

The brush itself for this purpose is one part of the proprietary “3 in 1” nozzle, which is attached to the handle or rather, under it . Fits perfectly, doesn’t fall off, but it’s hard to take it off! The nozzle has a very small surface area, almost no collecting surface. Designed in such a way that dust immediately flows into the 4-cm diameter circular opening. The result – the cleaning is deep and qualitative, but very slow. So much so, that it is impossible to clean carpets and furniture in one go.

Quality: Score 10.

Speed: 7 points.

Clean hard to reach places with main nozzle comfort

The nozzle is compact enough, its base swivels 360 degrees, and it can get under furniture with a 7 cm clearance. The form with 2 sharp corners – for better maneuverability, but the roller on which the brush rides, could be larger and more mobile: it lacks maneuverability.

Quality: 9 points.

Speed: 8 points.

Cleaning hard-to-reach places with the crevice nozzle convenience

The familiar 3-in-1 accessory also includes a nozzle for hard-to-reach places. It is slightly different from the usual crevice nozzle: it is short only 8.7 cm , not flat, expands like a cone, and only a small part of it is narrow and thin. The results are as follows: it fits in small and not too narrow spaces, but it is rather difficult to clean radiators, for example.

Quality: 8 points.

Speed: 8 points.

Power Switching

Ergonomics of mechanical switch are high: it is located on the handle, so that you don’t have to bend down and look, and it switches with one finger perfectly. Three positions of power – maximum, medium and weak – are enough for adjustment. The only drawback is that it is not electronic, with a prompting system for the user.

Convenience of the switch: 9 points.

Convenience of the tank

The plastic container and cyclone unit together make an elongated cylinder with a handle that can be easily pulled out and carried around. To clean the dust canister, you need to open its lid with a plastic valve. The whole construction can be held vertically by the handle – in this position the dust container is at the bottom and when you open its lid, debris will pour directly into a bucket or bag. The maximum fill level is marked on the container. To clean and rinse the container more thoroughly you can disconnect it from the cyclone block with plastic valves. The whole system is easy to assemble and disassemble – just practice a couple of times and understand the principle. It is just as easy to push the unit into place in the housing. A little confused by the abundance of plastic parts – valves and fasteners. Please note that the cyclone block cannot be washed, just wiped with a cloth.

Ease of removing and replacing the dust canister: 8 points.

Ergonomics

On/off button: 8 points. Smooth start, location on the body, large marking. But you have to press quite hard: with a “gentle” touch it doesn’t work.

Main nozzle: 7 points. It is conveniently regulated by the system “floor-kover”, but it is too compact and not quite maneuverable.

Maneuverability of the model: 8 points. Rides, turns, can be carried by the very handy handle, but… We were not mistaken in the description of the design: you see in the picture 2 big wheels, but in fact they are 4, and they are small. The big wheels are just a design statement, but it would be nice to have them.

Easy nozzle change: 9 points. Main, parquet and turbo nozzles can be changed remarkably well: just slide it on the tube and feel very good. And the 3-in-1 nozzle is hard to remove from its place on the handle.

Tube comfort: 10 points. Length is easy to adjust, even the folded position is enough for a person of average height.

Easy to park and store: 8 points. The device is compact, but it can not be stored vertically and the hose and tube, although attached to the housing, occupies a lot of space.

The convenience of changing filters: 10 points. The device is very convenient: open the block and press the button – only two movements and you have the frame with filters in your hands. It is recommended to regularly take it out and knock it against the edge of the garbage can. Every 3 months or more often the filters need to be washed and air dried.
