Test heater Aeronik PO-1123M

Climate control equipment

ASKS: high marks for technical parameters and usability, good indicators of heating of the room and maintaining a constant temperature, easy maintenance of the device, the best among the tested models of the efficiency of heat radiation.

RESTRICTIONS: quite high power consumption during operation, the heater requires careful handling: it should not be dropped on the floor, the power cord should not touch the hot body, in the manual there is no series of recommendations on safety.

DESIGN

Classic white heater. Section fins are deliberately thin and exquisite. Controls are on the end face, as on most heaters. Here you can find the on knob, thermostat knob, indicator light and coil for winding the electric cord.

By the way, the power cord – the longest of the models presented in the test, which allows you to put the heater almost anywhere in the room.

Heating rate

In 9 min and 5 sec the device heats up to 90% of the working temperature. For an eleven-section heater, that’s a great result.

The side-to-side radiation efficiency is the best among the models tested: 3.85?S. In other words, this heater will warm you up quicker after a cold spell.

Note that we are facing the most powerful and largest model of the test.

Functional parameters

A room of 10 sq.m.heater heats a 10 square meter room in 1 hour and 37 minutes at a cost of just over 2.5 kilowatts. This is not a bad performance, but far from the best.

The heater keeps the temperature in the room by turning on to the maximum and turning off periodically for 2 min. Power consumption at this operation mode is 1.28 kWh. T.e. The heater is more energy efficient in temperature maintenance mode than in heating mode, but it cannot be called economic.

At the same time the heater “holds” the set temperature very well, the deviation – less than one degree, only 0,75?With. No human being is able to notice such minor fluctuations.

Keeping the set temperature level for a long time was also up to the mark – the temperature increases relative to the set temperature only by +1.17?S. You have to agree that it’s not much.

Preparation for work begins with the installation of the roller supports. It is secured to the body with U-bolt ties and wing-nuts. The procedure is standard for most heaters.

Knobs are used to turn the heater on and off and to control the thermostat. The first – with a clear switch “off”, 1st heating element, 2nd heating element, both. The second one – with its smooth easy running and a clear click on/off bimetal plate – deserves the highest rating!

The heating indicator light comes on only when the heating elements of the device are switched on.

The markings on the handle are dark and contrasting, but the Roman numerals blend together when viewed from a distance. Nevertheless, among tested models the marking of this device deserved the best marks.

The heater can be moved around the room with the rollers and the knob. The rollers did not cause any complaints, but the miniature handle can only be held with the fingertips, which is uncomfortable, given the weight and size of the device.

When storing, the power cord gets wound onto a wide ledge. The special fastener for the plug got the marks. It is quite weak. So it is difficult to use.

Easy to clean thanks to the combination of sleek design of the casing and finned sections. Practically no place for dust to collect.

The user manual is one of the best in terms of convenience: large font, detailed, understandable description and detailed drawing of the roller bearings mounting.

Safety

Unfortunately, the device does not fully correspond to the strict American safety requirements. In the wonderful and beautiful instructions are no instructions to install the heater in the vicinity of the outlet, the order of repairs requiring the opening of the container with the oil, the need to follow the instructions for the disposal of the oil of the outdated heater. There is no “do not cover” marking in American on the unit itself. The inscription is there, but in English.

Outer case parts get hotter than 102° C, so if you touch them accidentally, you can get burned.

In the “abnormal operation” test, the heater passed the first test: if careless housewives still dry clothes on it because there is no corresponding forbidding labeling , nothing bad will happen. But the tipping test didn’t stand the heater: the temperature of the radiator surface exceeded the maximum permissible value.

There are also complaints about the power cord. It has a plastic insulation PVC , and therefore in normal operation can touch the external metal parts of the heater, which temperature exceeds 75 ° C.

Thus, out of seven safety tests, the appliance passed three:

Power consumption is as specified within normal tolerance

The heater is resistant to mechanical hazards when installed on a horizontal surface with a 15° slope, it did not topple over and withstood a perpendicular shock of 5 N, simulating an accidental hit of the device

No contact with live parts.
