Sven company is first of all known for its multimedia products. But the next guest of our editorial board, – HT-200 cinema set, can be successfully used separately from the computer. It has a multichannel input, radio and can read MP3-files. But first things first.

Open
Five satellites, lying in the foam form, are in view. Each one is in its own separate compartment, so the manufacturers decided to protect the speakers from damage during transportation. Taking off the upper “tier”, under it there are the central unit, the manual, the remote control and peripherals.
Central unit
The main unit performs two functions – the subwoofer and all the electronics are in one box.
Generally speaking, this decision, of course, is ambiguous. On the one hand, for a competent design of low-frequency acoustics – which the subwoofer is, you need an accurate calculation of the internal volume of the cabinet – not to mention the length of the phase-inverter. And electronic stuffing does occupy some space, and one can only define the volume of this space approximately – have a look at the transformer radiator at least.
In addition, low-frequency vibrations cause vibration, which can lead to contact bounce on the board. But, considering that the system is still multimedia and is not designed to work in very large rooms, reducing the set by one “box” is more convenient for placement. Besides, the power of subwoofer is not so high as to require strict positioning in the space and cause very significant vibrations. By the way, a similar design was used by Yamaha engineers. All interface is located on the rear side.
Here you will find two stereo inputs and a multichannel 5.1 input. Here are the terminals for speakers, the socket for FM antenna and the mains switch. On the side of the box is a slot for SD MMC card and USB port.
In the front panel is built in display and keys of volume, radio settings, rewind, selector and mode switch, – of 5.1 multichannel by 2.1 triphonics.
Satellites
Surround sound acoustics consists of five small one-way satellite speakers.
On the back of each are spring-loaded terminals labeled.
Remote
Virtually all functions are handled with the remote. As you can see in the photo, you can separately adjust the volume of each channel, adjust bass and treble, and adjust the subwoofer power. There is also a selector, radio station switching and track control when reading from an SD/MMC card or flash drive.
What’s inside?
Open the central unit. Loudspeaker and reflex duct are structurally separated on opposite sides and at different heights.
Pulling out the electronics box..
…and examine the back of the board.
Turn the circuit board upside down. Soldering is neat enough.
Installation is also satisfactory.
Switching on
In standby mode, “Standby” display greets us with the time display. The display cannot be switched off at all, and some users will have to get used to this, – in the dark, the indication is quite bright.
Blue LED lights up in front of the active mode label when turned on. When tuning radio FM band only , indicator shows frequency.
Each station can be memorized.
The rest of the functions, – reading MP3 files and playing from an external source did not cause any problems. The sound can be characterized as smooth, but if to pick up a little bit “flat”, – satellites are one-way, after all. But it is not essential for cinema – the volume is created quite tangible. When listening to music tonal balance equalization is achieved not so much by adjusting the bass and treble, as by adjusting the subwoofer power, even with such a modest satellites you can achieve quite acceptable sound.
To summarize
As a matter of fact,
Sven HT- 200 system
– Multimedia version of “a theater in a box,” – that is, all the “same thing” only without the DVD drive. Of course, DVDs have not left the shelves of cinephiles yet, but their time has gone. If you really want, you can, of course, connect a DVD player with multichannel output, but it’s better to do it with a computer that has 5.1-channel sound card. Having quite democratic price,
HT- 200
allows not only watching movies with a realistic effect, but also listening to music with good sounding.
This multimedia center seems to offer a wide range of entertainment options, but I wonder how user-friendly it is. Can you tell me more about its interface and ease of use?
Overall, this review seems promising, highlighting the Sven HT-200 multimedia center’s various features. However, I would like to know more about its performance and reliability. Does it offer good sound quality for both movies and music? Is the audio player user-friendly or complicated to navigate? Additionally, how does the radio function work? Is it easy to tune to different stations? Any insights from users who have tried this device would be greatly appreciated.
