Do you need an egg cooker in your home?

Steam cooker Binatone FS-404

Many housewives use a steam cooker for boiling eggs. Some people even “got the knack” of cooking everything for salads: chopped raw carrots, potatoes, etc. d., place the eggs, set the timer for 15-20 minutes and then, when everything has cooled down, mix the salad.

We boiled eggs in steamers for a different purpose. We decided to test the speed of each device in this way. At the same time appreciated the convenience of this process: many grids have special notches for setting eggs.

We gave all the steamers the same starting conditions: we poured the maximum level of cold water, set only one level, put an egg, closed the lid and set the time – 10 minutes. Then we did not touch the eggs for a couple of minutes, we gave them a chance to “reach”, and we did not want to burn our fingers.

The test results were as follows: really hard boiled egg in a steam cooker LAMARK LK-1652, a little bit too runny yolk was in LASKO Lilla LS-1104-20, even more runny was the middle of the yolk in VR FS-3002V, TEFAL VS 7001 and BRAUN FS 20.

(Experts generally believe that the egg in the steam cooker cooks unevenly – the bottom is faster than the top – and advise turning the egg while cooking. – Prim. edit .
