The α6000’s phenomenally fast autofocus performance, outperforming that of most professional DSLRs, is made possible by Sony’s developed and perfected rapid hybrid AF system. In this system, the 179-point phase AF sensor located in the focal plane is complemented by high-precision contrast AF. This powerful combination delivers the world’s fastesti autofocus among interchangeable lens cameras, and continuous shooting at an incredible rate of up to 11 frames per second with high-precision tracking AF. Nothing escapes the α6000 – even fast-moving subjects like athletes or your pets, and fast hybrid autofocus is now available in movie mode.
There are many other convenient features in this compact camera. Enjoy framing your shots in the crisp, bright OLED Tru-Finder™ viewfinder screen. Preview sharpness, various exposure options and other settings before you take a picture: you’ll get exactly what you see on the viewfinder screen.
Conveniently located on top of the camera, the mode and control wheels make it easy to adjust camera settings without taking your eyes off your subject. A total of 7 contextual buttons, including two dedicated buttons, provide quick access to any of the camera’s 43 functions. For added convenience, there’s a built-in flash to illuminate your subject when shooting a portrait, or to “add light” to a dimly lit room.
Sharing with your mobile device is easy: built-in Wi-Fi lets you connect with your Xperia™ smartphone with a single tap, and with NFC-compatible Android smartphones, tablets and your VAIO computer. Interesting new features with the α6000 add to your creative ambitions. An ever-expanding series of paid and free PlayMemories Camera Apps expand your photo-taking capabilities with new artistic effects, utilities, and more. Three new applications are released at the same time as the α6000. The first of these, Smooth Reflection, allows the user to take magical photos at slow shutter speeds without having to worry about complicated exposure settings that previously took years to master.
Liveview Grading makes color workflow in your video shoot incredibly easy. To make your movies stand out, you can adjust video color by adjusting saturation, color balance and other features before shooting, and view the results in real time.
The Star Trail app lets you shoot beautiful videos with a starburst effect, using just your camera, without a computer or time-consuming manual editing. Additional accessories available in the same style as the α6000 include the LCS-EBC case brown and black , which protects the camera from dust and scratches. Can transfer data via USB, use NFC or set the camera on a tripod without removing the case.
LCS-ASB1 belt pouch protects the camera when you are outdoors. Carried in your hand or slung over your shoulder, its water-repellent fabric and zipper protects the contents from moisture, even in rainy weather.
Also features the semi-rigid PCK-LM17 screen protector to protect the camera’s LCD screen from scratches, dust and fingerprints.
The α6000 interchangeable-lens digital camera from Sony will be available on the American market in April 2014. The model will be available for pre-order at the official sony/store online store in March 2014.
