New BRAVIA models are equipped with the best Sony proprietary technologies, which are designed to reproduce the authorā€™s original intention on the screen as precisely as possible. Introducing a new range, Sony offers users the ultimate immersive experience through impressive picture quality, innovative audio technology and a seamless user experience on large premium screens.

BRAVIA OLED A8

Best-in-class X1ā„¢ Ultimate processor delivers exceptional picture clarity and accuracy for the ultimate in realism. Another crucial requirement for an immersive experience is quality sound. Sound-from-Picture Realityā„¢ on the new BRAVIA models makes it seem as if the sound is coming straight from the screen.

The new models ensure faithful reproduction of the picture as intended by the author by supporting Netflix Calibrated Mode, offering studio-quality Netflix content, and IMAXĀ® Enhancedā„¢ on select models , allowing the user to have an IMAX experience in the comfort of their own home with a new level of picture, sound and scale.

The new Sony BRAVIA TVs also feature Ambient Optimization optimal brightness , which allows you to adjust the quality of picture and sound to any environment, depending on the level of light in the room. This technology automatically changes the brightness of the picture according to the level of light for optimal viewing, brightening the picture in bright rooms and vice versa, muting in the dark. Whatā€™s more, this technology detects objects around you ā€“ curtains or furniture ā€“ that reflect or absorb sound waves, calibrating acoustic settings to avoid sound deterioration.

In addition to Ambient Optimization, the new Sony BRAVIA televisions come with the new Immersive Edge design concept. A discreetly placed stand along the edge of the screen for extra realism. This minimalist design allows you to fully immerse yourself in whatā€™s happening on the screen without distracting you from whatā€™s being shown. To get ready for new generations of game consoles, a number of new models support 8K resolution, as well as 4K at 120fps high frame rate and fast response times when connected to HDMI inputs for the maximum performance required for the best gaming experience.

Key upgrades for Sony TVs

ā€“ The new Frame Tweeter solution in the ZH8 family: the ultimate immersive experience is achieved through enhanced image quality, a minimalist design and the Sound-from-Picture Realityā„¢ concept using the new Frame Tweeter technology. The frame tweeter sends vibrations to the TV frame, turning it into a sound source. Sound appears to emanate directly from the screen, giving the viewer the sensation of being immersed in the action.

ā€“ X-Motion Clarity for OLED screens: This revolutionary, widely recognised as the best of its kind Sony technology is now available on OLED TVs. With an incredibly high refresh rate it enhances the screen image in real time. For example, exceptional smoothness combines with high brightness and sharpness of dynamic scenes to provide uncompromising picture quality when watching sports broadcasts.

ā€“ X-Wide Angle in more models: X-Wide Angle technology delivers bright, true-to-life images with minimal color casts from any angle, while delivering a wider color gamut and higher brightness than standard LED TVs. Enjoy a great picture with incredible color range and depth of color from anywhere in the room! To offer customers even more choice, the technology will also support XH95 Series 4K Full Array LED-backlit televisions with 55-inch or greater screen diagonals.

ā€“ Full-Array LED direct full LED backlight in more models: Sony Full-Array Local Dimming and Boosting technology dynamically changes the light level in certain areas of the screen based on the content, significantly improving contrast and brightness. With precise light balancing in all areas of the screen, dark scenes are even richer and bright scenes brighter, just as the author intended. This top-of-the-line feature will now be available on mid-priced models in the XH90 series with 4K resolution and Full-Array LED backlighting.

ā€“ Backlit remote control: The new backlit aluminum remote control for ZH8 and XH95 allows you to enjoy a comfortable viewing experience in dimly lit rooms.

ā€“ Android TVā„¢: the new lineup will come preloaded with Google Assistant1, Google Play Store and Chromecast for easy access to content, services and other devices. In addition, Sonyā€™s original user interfaces and voice control features have been improved, making them even more convenient for everyday use. Advanced voice control features allow users to enjoy content, work with apps and connected devices hands-free2.

ā€“ Voice Control Capability2: Sonyā€™s voice-activated TVs work with Google Assistant to offer viewers smart features and more usability. You can simply ask Assistant to find the latest blockbuster, TV series or run games. The assistant can also dim the lights through smart devices, show tasks in your calendar and display answers to questions you ask.

ā€“ Compatible with smart speakers: with support for Google Assistant3 and Amazon Alexa4, you can control your TV with your voice to download and play YouTube videos using Google Home or to change channels and change volume through Amazon Alexa-powered devices.

ā€“ Easily connect to most devices: AppleĀ® AirplayĀ® 2 support lets users stream video, music, games and photos from their iPhoneĀ®, iPadĀ® or MacĀ® on their TV. Apple HomeKitā„¢ technology provides a convenient, reliable way to control your TV from your iPhoneĀ®, iPadĀ® or Mac5.

These new models from Sony sound impressive with their superior picture and sound quality! Iā€™m curious to know how these TVs compare to other top brands in terms of performance and price. Are the 8K Full Array LED TVs worth the investment or would the 4K OLED or 4K Full Array LED models provide a similar viewing experience at a more affordable cost?
