SONY BRAVIA KDL 55W808A TV review

The television design is called SenceofQuartz and, according to the manufacturer, they got their inspiration from the sparkle of the faceted quartz crystal surface. In fact, the panel looks great! And the stand transforms into a hanging bracket.

Features of technology

This TV uses LED backlighting with EdgeLED technology. If conventional backlighting is placed behind the TV matrix on its entire plane, the EdgeLED technology allows you to place the LEDs on the edges of the screen using an optical sheet. At the same time the OptiContrast panel provides high contrast and sharpness with minimal glare on the screen. KDL 55W808A uses MotionflowXR 400 Hz technology which allows you to see dynamic scenes clearly without blurring or flickering at 400 frames per second.

Video equipment

Functionality

New picture processor X-RealityPro. Using all the most innovative technologies such as Intelligent Noise Reduction or AdvancedContrastEnhancer, the X-RealityPro processor has high-speed processing, which enables comprehensive digital signal processing for multiple signal streams.

Other TV features include 24pTrueCinema technology and Cinema Mode. 24pTrueCinema allows you to watch movies as the director intended at 24 frames per second, and the “Cinema Mode” helps to accurately reproduce details such as the natural color of skin, foliage, as well as lighting and contrast.

The device also supports wireless access to online entertainment service SonyEntertainmentNetwork. This is access to HD movies, web browser, applications Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Skype, your favorite TV channels and much more. Control by remote control. TV can record on USB drive, supports SMARTTV. No built-in camera, you can connect an external camera for Skype.

Video technology

Easy and clear menu, built-in help. Comfortable navigation with a large number of channels by grouping them together. You can also control your TV from your smartphone.

Picture quality

Great detail. The picture is bright, clear and very natural. 2D to 3D conversion works well. I watched a 3 year old kid watching cartoons in 3D on this TV set using the Blue-ray player. He was always trying to catch something or hold on to it. That’s high quality, kids can’t lie.

Sony

Sound.

Sound is not bad. Thanks to the sound systems S-ForceFrontSurround 3D, BassReflexBox, ClearPhase 20W 2 x 10 , DolbyDigital decoder, surround sound.

You can customize various sound scenes, from news to computer games, and it sounds great everywhere. The sound is so good when properly adjusted that you shudder when watching a battle scene and nothing rattles or hums when the announcer reads the news.

Unfortunately, with such a screen size Sony has nothing more budget, all the budget models have a diagonal of up to 40″. LG has long ago gained a firm foothold in America, let’s see what it can offer us in this segment
