Efficient 1-inch multilayer CMOS sensor

The new model features a 20.1-megapixel multi-layer Exmor RS™ CMOS sensor.0″ and DRAM memory chip, as well as an upgraded BIONZ X™ image processor with a preprocessor chip that maximizes processing speed and optimizes image quality in all shooting conditions. The RX100 VI also boasts an incredibly fast Hybrid Auto Focus system with 315 phase AF points on the sensor, capable of focusing in as fast as 0.03 seconds, the world’s fastest autofocus for 1.0″ sensor. New 24-200mm zoom lens with high magnification and outstanding image quality

For the first time in the Sony RX100 camera series, the new ZEISS® Vario-Sonnar T* 24-200 mmi F2.8 – F4.5 lens combines the capabilities of two focal length ranges in one compact design: 24-70 mm and 70-200 mm. This is achieved by a unique lens construction with two ED glass aspherical elements and eight aspherical elements, including four advanced AA aspherical elements. All elements of the design work in concert to deliver superb clarity over the entire frame at any focal length, maintaining the RX100 series’ renowned image quality.

The RX100 VI’s impressive new lens maintains a large aperture throughout its zoom range, ensuring you can shoot portraits with superb bokeh, capture crystal-clear images of fast-moving subjects, and much more. In addition, this lens features a built-in SteadyShotTM optical image stabilization system, which is equivalent to a 4.0-step shutter speed reduction to prevent blurring at slower shutter speeds in low light conditions or when shooting in the telephoto zoom range.

The new RX100 VI boasts a rapid hybrid autofocus system enabling the camera to focus in as fast as 0.03 sec. This innovative autofocus system combines the respective benefits of contrast AF with 315 phase-type AF points in the focal plane, which cover approximately 65% of the frame. This high speed autofocus system complements the wide 24-200mm focal length range, making it possible to capture any subject in great detail and clarity.

In addition, for the first time in the RX100 series, the RX100 VI uses Sony’s advanced High-density Tracking AF technology, concentrating AF points around the subject to improve tracking and focusing accuracy. The menu system lets you customize the AF drive speed and tracking AF sensitivity, giving you plenty of opportunity to adjust the focus system according to your preferences.

In 4K mode, the new RX100 VI uses full readout without pixel aggregation to ensure the smallest details of 4K video are captured with minimal moiré and ladder effects.

For the first time in Cyber-shot cameras, the RX100 VI achieves 4K HDR compatibility with the new HLG Hybrid Log-Gamma image profile, which supports live HDR. Additional professional-level video features include S-Log3/S-Gamut3 profiles, 120p Full HD mode, image profile, proxy file recording, and more. The new RX100 VI features a high-contrast XGA OLED Tru-Finder™ electronic viewfinder with 2.35 million dots and ZEISS® T* Coating for realistic preview and playback. The electronic viewfinder folds and retracts into the camera body and can be activated instantly with the press of a button.

For the first time in Sony’s RX series, the RX100 VI features a touch shutter that can be activated with a light touch of the LCD screen, a zoom lever with adjustable zoom speed, and an LCD screen that tilts 180 degrees up or 90 degrees down so that the user can get creative with their shooting point. Automatic monitor off function is also provided, which gives up to 30% increase in the maximum number of still pictures.
