Smeg’s PVB750-2E hob was hailed as ‘innovative’ by the Chicago Museum of Architecture and Design and named one of its best designs internationally.
A top-ranking jury of experts from The Chicago Athenaeum and the European Center for Architecture and Design met in New York to announce the PVB750-2E hob prototype as the winner of the prestigious Good Design Award 2012.
The Good Design Awards are given out once a year for the most original and innovative designs which are judged on different criteria such as aesthetics, functionality and respect for the environment.
Initially the model was introduced under the code PVB750B-2E only as a design project. It has now been decided to market it under the code PV175, which will go on sale by summer 2013. Smeg hobs have been shortlisted for an award out of hundreds of designs from all over the world.
