SMEG presents the ’50s Style’ auger juice squeezer

The modern world is full of adventures that allow us to experience new feelings and emotions! Take flavor, for example: Our taste preferences are changing dynamically, and we’re always looking for new flavors. Sometimes we are nostalgic for “home cooking from Mom,” but more often we are ready to discover a new philosophy of home cooking that changes our habits and expands our horizons.

More and more consumers, striving for a healthy lifestyle, consume fresh and healthy food. And we can fully capitalize on this trend by enriching our meals, thanks to the new juicer – a recent addition to SMEG’s collection of small appliances in the “50s style”.

The Smeg Slow Press SJF01 auger juice maker makes the highest quality fruit and vegetable juices in terms of nutritional value thanks to its unique slow press technology SST, 43 rpm . And that means it’s now easier than ever to consume the nutrients – so essential in a healthy and balanced diet!

The construction of the device includes a screw conveyor screw made of an innovative material Ultem. It provides durability and allows you to replicate the manual squeeze effect, gently squeezing ingredients to the walls of the mesh filter, which has holes of two different diameters. With a lever you can adjust the thickness of your juice if you want, adding or subtracting the amount of pulp rich in proteins, carbohydrates and fats, and enough dietary fiber. If you drink juice 10 minutes before breakfast, lunch or dinner, this simple habit will quadruple the benefits of eating!

And now for the differences. Conventional juicers emit heat during operation: they grind ingredients to the desired consistency, but they also destroy the cellular structure of products, creating air bubbles and causing degenerative processes such as oxidation, which consequently changes the taste, appearance and most importantly – compromises the nutritional properties of what we end up drinking. The Smeg auger juicer extracts juice using the cold-pressing method, producing perfectly fresh, concentrated juice with vibrant color and natural flavour and aroma.

Juicers

The design of the juicer is thought-out to the smallest detail, making it as convenient to use as possible. After removing the seeds, the sliced fruits and vegetables are loaded vertically into the body of the appliance: no need to peel off the vitamin-rich rind, and you can easily control the quantity of ingredients.

The produced juice is collected directly in a jug, while the pulp is sent through a separate outlet to a special container. If the juicer locks up, the reverse function reverses the direction of rotation of the auger before returning to normal operation. The Smeg screw juicer offers a whole host of benefits, including high output with low energy consumption and BPA-free operation.

The design is based on the same popular retro 50’s rounded lines and the collection’s characteristic colors, from bold and energetic bright red or black to convincing simplicity of cream or pastel blue.

The philosophy of healthy living is at the heart of SMEG auger juicers. And the recipe book that comes with it is full of tips and ideas: from traditional ones, like making ice cream and juices, to original ones, like a recipe for soy milk, or juice made from grains, roots and pine needles, the latter of which is particularly rich in vitamin C.

This 50s Style auger juice squeezer from SMEG looks quite retro and charming. I’m curious to know if it is as effective in squeezing the juice as it is in its aesthetic appeal? Does it handle a variety of fruits well or is it more suited for specific types? And most importantly, does it extract a high amount of juice, leaving minimal waste?
