Canon announces the ME20F-SH, a professional multifunctional camcorder for capturing rich color video even in the dimmest of lighting conditions. Although compact, it delivers professional-quality Full HD video and boasts an ISO sensitivity of over 4 million +75dB .
The ME20F-SH records video in conditions that were previously impossible, making it ideal for night time telephoto shots of wildlife, deep ocean or cave exploration, astronomy and surveillance.
The camera can be used in semi-permanent mode and supports remote control, which also means easy, long-duration shooting: you can shoot documentaries, nature and fauna change movies and other long-duration projects – with minimal staffing. Due to the low demand for this product and its narrow specialization, the ME20F-SH will only be available to certain partners.
High end infrared illumination capabilities
Low-light shooting often requires additional infrared illumination, which produces only black-and-white video footage. The ME20F-SH however is a very sensitive camera, capable of capturing low noise Full HD color video without using IR illumination.
Exceptional high sensitivity
Specifically designed for extremely low light conditions, this camera features a new 2.26 megapixel full frame 35mm CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV4 processor. Canon’s proprietary sensor pixels and sensing circuitry ensure low noise and incredible sensitivity, so you can shoot in light levels below 0.0005 lux. Like the Cinema EOS cameras, it includes Canon Log and Wide DR profiles that deliver a wide dynamic range 800% and allow you to shoot in a wide range of conditions without the need for additional light sources.
Connecting
The ME20F-SH can be connected to a variety of third-party devices for recording or remote monitoring, as well as the Canon RC-V100 multi-function remote control[i].
