Samsung unveiled a new line of UHD TVs in South Korea

“With the release of curved-screen models, Samsung is setting a new direction for modern televisions,” said HS Kim, executive vice president and head of Visual Display at Samsung Electronics. – We have been number one in the global TV market for nine years, and we will continue to strengthen our leadership position.”.

The line of Samsung UHD TVs with curved screen includes models with 105-, 78-, 65- and 55-inch diagonal. The company also plans to expand its UHD flat-panel TV lineup with 110-, 85-, 65-, 55- and 50-inch models.

Samsung has developed an optimal curvature of 4.2 meters radius, which provides the best picture quality at a distance of 3-4 meters between the viewer and the TV. Curved models create the effect of presence and full immersion into the picture on the screen, which is impossible on traditional flat panels, in addition, a wider viewing angle creates a panoramic effect, so that the TV display seems much larger than it really is.

Samsung is an industry leader, constantly expanding its list of partners to make the latest UHD experience available to everyone. In March, Samsung will release a 1TB UHD Video Pack on a hard drive preloaded with feature films and documentaries from leading Hollywood companies, which include FOX and Paramount Pictures. More than 50 items of content will be available for downloading through the Smart Hub multimedia panel.

This April, Samsung, in cooperation with leading cable operators in South Korea, plans to support the world’s first UHD broadcast channel.

Smart TV has also been touched thanks to an improved quad-core processor. Quad Core Plus is twice as fast and provides faster loading and navigation.

Samsung has also improved Soccer Mode for Smart TV, optimizing the viewing of soccer games. It makes it easy not to miss the game’s highlights and access TV-optimized services. For example, Samsung Smart TV can automatically detect the volume of the commentator’s voice or monitor changes on the electronic scoreboard.

At the Media Day event, Samsung announced its global marketing campaign for the “Samsung UHD TV Coliseum” project. Samsung will create a “Colosseum” of seven 75-inch UHD TVs with a curved screen. This gigantic display will show parts of Michael Bay’s new movie, “Transformers 4,” which premieres in June for the first time.

Samsung also introduced a line of AV products with the highest level of sound quality, which will be a perfect complement to the new TVs with curved screen. For example, you can enjoy the clear, deep sound of the Samsung F850 sound system in a stylish case with metallic design while watching sports or concerts.
