Samsung presents a robot vacuum cleaner NaviBot Silencio

New York, June 19, 2012 – Samsung Electronics, the world’s leading manufacturer of consumer electronics and winner of many awards for innovation, introduces the new NaviBot Silencio robotic vacuum cleaner. The device introduces a new era of home appliances. Compact but powerful robot vacuum cleaner is able to move autonomously on different types of surfaces and provides excellent cleaning quality without the effort of the owner.

NaviBot Silencio continues the line of NaviBot robotic vacuum cleaners, reaching a new level of artificial intelligence. Two processors powering an innovative navigation program let the robot remember its location relative to other objects in the house and also remember where the charging station is. Orientation in space with Visionary Mapping is aided by the robot vacuum cleaner’s built-in camera, which scans your surroundings at 30 frames per second.

With its help, the robot vacuum cleaner creates a virtual map of the house, identifying the exact location of obstacles, such as furniture and furnishings. By calculating the shortest and most convenient route, NaviBot Silencio can guarantee fast and efficient cleaning.

New robot vacuum cleaner can handle multiple rooms. If the battery charge is not enough to finish cleaning the room, NaviBot Silencio automatically returns to the charging station and restores the battery within two hours – faster than other devices on the market. Thanks to the navigation system Visionary Mapping, the robot vacuum cleaner is able to continue cleaning from where it was interrupted.

Brushes on both sides make cleaning your home faster and more efficient. When Power Brush finishes its job of picking up dirt and debris, Sweeping Blade takes over to do a more thorough cleaning. Brush Protection Comb helps pick up pet hair and protects the Power Brush by preventing hair from winding around it. This makes the NaviBot Silencio even more convenient and easier to use and maintain.

A robot vacuum cleaner has easy access to hard-to-reach places like coffee tables and furniture, making it perfect for everyday cleaning. And it can be cleaning while users are away from home. NaviBot offers a choice of six different modes of operation: Auto, Spot, Max, Edge Clean, Turbo and Manual, and can also start with a time delay, allowing you to start a cleaning program while you’re on the go.

NaviBot Silencio has 38 sensors that help it clean properly and also keep it from falling down stairs, colliding with other objects and getting tangled in wires.

The NaviBot Silencio also features Virtual Guard, which creates a virtual floor plan and unleashes two useful functions for users. The first of these, the Virtual Fence, allows the device to close off access to an area, such as a bathroom with wet floors, a fireplace area or an area of the room where pets eat. The second feature, the Virtual Guide, gives users the ability to set the order in which they want to clean. In this mode, the robot vacuum will move from area to area, instead of cleaning all available surfaces.

Navibot Silencio is also equipped with a HEPA Hygienic High-Efficiency Particulate Air filter, which traps micro dust particles and allergens and guarantees clean air coming out of the vacuum cleaner. And with Air Path technology, the noise generated by the robot vacuum cleaner is substantially reduced, so consumers can talk on the phone or watch TV while the Navibot Silencio cleans.
