Samsung 7 Series Notebooks: Higher Speed – Smaller Case!

The Consumer Electronics Show CES 2012, which was held in January in Las Vegas, literally exploded the market with dozens of new products. What these “explosive” innovations are – just look at the list of laureates for innovation. Today we will talk about the category “Tablets, eBooks and Netbooks”, where the creations of the Korean company Samsung excelled.

According to experts, these models combine high performance with a portable design.

The 7-series is officially available in America in two versions: Gamer and Chronos. The name says it all, and the second is designed for businessmen looking for speed and mobility.

According to samsung website.com Chronos 7 Series laptops feature an Intel Core i5 processor, have an anti-glare display and can last up to 8 hours without recharging.

Korean developers applied ExpressCache technology to these devices, which speeds up boot-up time after powering them on, using 8GB of flash memory on a solid-state drive SSD

Another interesting feature is the small frame size around the visible part of the screen, which allows the 15.6-inch display in a case close in size to the 14-inch model.

The body is made of brushed aluminum, the weight of the 14-inch laptop – 1.95 kg, and 15-inch – 2.29 kg. The thickness of both models is a little less than 24 mm.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has won four awards – twice for the device with an 8.9-inch screen, and the same number for its “older” counterpart with a 10.1-inch diagonal.

“The baby is built with AT&T in mind, and therefore supports 4G. It runs on Android OS version 3.1 And has a dual-core processor. Its thickness is 8.6 mm and weighs 465 grams.

The second similar Korean “kid” with a screen diagonal of 8.9-inch has the acronym “Wi-Fi” and gives the owner the ability to quickly switch between different applications.

The friendliness of the device extends not only to its intuitive interface, but also to support a large number of external devices.

As for the “Galaxy” tablets with a larger diagonal – the division is the same. One supports only Wi-Fi, runs Android 3.2 and has no limits in the expression of friendliness towards the host.

The second is defined as LTE Verizon , and runs Android version 3.1.

According to the site of the exhibition, the thickness of these devices 8.6 mm is now the smallest in the world.

In the same category are devices from the Japanese corporation SONY. True, the “Japanese” were smaller than their Korean counterparts, but the devices were more diverse.

If SAMSUNG had all the devices were computers in different versions, the SONY corporation, in addition to the Tablet S1 noted e-reader.

The reader has a 6-inch screen and Wi-Fi, which allows you to access wireless networks of public libraries “directly,” bypassing the computer. Recall also that Sony’s tablet is the first to support the PlayStation.

I am intrigued by the sound of Samsung’s 7 Series Notebooks offering higher speed and a smaller case. Can anyone who has used these notebooks attest to their performance and compactness? How do they compare to other similar models in terms of speed and size?
