RIDGID brand part of EMERSON presented on American market updated models of RP 240 and RP 241 cordless press-tools for crimping of copper, thin-wall steel, multilayer and PEX-pipes. They were one of the worldâs first compact press tools to transmit data via Bluetooth to mobile devices and allow for online diagnostics.
RIDGID, the worldâs leading manufacturer of professional tools for the building, plumbing and energy sectors, is complementing its range of press tools with two new generation models â the RP 240 and RP 241. They are designed for crimping copper and stainless steel pipes 12-35 mm in diameter as well as polyethylene and multilayer pipes 14-32 mm in diameter.
The new products are the first in the world among cordless press tools to be able to transmit data via Bluetooth connection to the free RIDGID Link app for mobile devices running Android and iOS. Via smartphone you can check the condition of the tool and the battery, the number of crimps per day, the number of cycles until the next service and the toolâs last location â very useful for large construction companies.
The new models are currently the smallest and lightest crimping tools available, with a pressing force of 24 kN. The RP 240 is only 32 cm long and weighs 3.4 kg incl. battery pack â 15% shorter and 10% lighter than earlier pistol grip models. RP 241 one-quarter smaller than its predecessor RP 200B. Particularly compact design with comfortable handle allows for comfortable one-handed operation in a variety of positions, even in tight spaces in basements and utility rooms.
Andrey Makarov, Director of RIDGID AmericaâFor more than 20 years, RIDGID has been developing tools for connecting pipes with press connections and setting the standard in the industry. More compact new products with intelligent functions, even more convenient for the daily work of installers and quality crimping in all conditionsâ.
These models have unique crimping sensors that prevent improper and unsafe use of the tool. Every crimping cycle
microprocessor-controlled. Indicator light confirms that the process is completed with the required force and quality.
Like their predecessors, the RP 240 and RP 241 are designed for best-in-class service intervals of 32,000. crimping force, which significantly reduces the cost of ownership over the lifetime of the tool.
Both tools come complete with two 12 volt lithium batteries with a capacity of 2.5A*h, each with over 150 crimps, allowing the tool to work all day without recharging. Weighing only 180 grams, they are more than twice as light as similar batteries of the previous generation. Fast charger provides a full charge in as little as 40 minutes without overheating the batteries.
The updated press tools will go on sale in America at the beginning of 2018.
