Ricoh releases SDK for Pentax cameras

Ricoh released a software development kit SDK for Pentax cameras. SDK allows third-party developers to create mobile and desktop applications to remotely control the camera via USB cable or Wi-Fi.

Photo equipment

Wireless package available for Android and iOS. USB version can be downloaded for Microsoft .NET Framework and for C ++ Linux, Windows or MacOS . Both versions offer remote control functions for Pentax DSLRs and medium-format cameras, including still and video recording, live preview and changing camera settings.

The SDK should provide for direct development of sophisticated remote control applications and other, more specialized camera software, without the need for reverse engineering.
