Ricoh has entered the American market with multimedia projectors

New York, August 24, 2012. – Ricoh presents its first line of multimedia projectors for business in America. In the near future, thirteen models in different classes will be on sale: entry-level, mobile, standard, professional. PJ WX4130 and PJ WX4130N are revolutionary projectors with ultra-short throw distance. New items allow you to project a high-resolution image diagonal of 48 inches at a record-small distance from the wall – only 11.7 cm.

The Ricoh PJ WX4130/PJ WX4130N V-Projectors use the original free-form concave mirror technology: it gives a wide viewing angle and at the same time allows the optical system to remain small. The projectors of this series are very lightweight – only 3kg – and compact – only 257x144x221mm. Unlike other ultra short throw projectors that are ceiling mounted and fixed in one place, the PJ WX4130/PJ WX4130N can be placed on a table or directly on the floor as it projects a high resolution WXGA 1280×800 image vertically upwards.

The minimum screen distance for this projector is only 11.7 cm. And at a distance of 24 cm from the wall the device provides a great picture already with a diagonal of 80 inches. Therefore, vertical projectors can be used not only for presentations, but also, for example, for the creation of digital advertising displays at exhibitions, stores, restaurants and hotels. The location of the projector directly against the wall avoids the usual disadvantages of presentations – too bright light that glares the speaker, the shadows in the image.

Using a multiprojection system of multiple vertical projectors and special software, such as Scalable Display Technologies, allows you to create large-format displays, formed by “seamless” association of multiple images into a single one.

PJ WX4130/PJ WX4130N models can also turn any flat surface into an interactive whiteboard by installing Luidia’s eBeam Edge interactive system.

HDMI interface makes it possible to project high quality video from DVD and Blu-ray players. And thanks to Ricoh’s Tamago Presenter app, you can connect up to 10 iPad tablets to the projectors via Wi-Fi so that you can share your presentation between all devices connected to the same wireless network.

According to analysts, the segment of devices with ultra-short throw distance is the fastest growing in the category of projectors. According to Futuresource Consulting from 2010 to 2011. Sales of these models in the US market grew by 113%.

Ricoh’s product line, which will be available on the American market, also includes entry-level projectors. The PJ WX2130/X2130 are budget-friendly units for use in small meeting or training rooms. The models use DLP Digital Light Processing technology which allows projecting high quality images with 1280×800 WXGA /1024×768 XGA resolution and showing 3D content.

The HDMI interface of the PJ WX2130 makes it possible to connect a Blu-ray or DVD player for viewing video with a single cable. Both devices can operate in eco-mode, which reduces power consumption and extends lamp life by 33%.

Ricoh’s range of portable projectors includes five compact units: the PJ WX3231N, PJ X3241N, PJ X3241, PJ X3131, PJ WX3131. The brightest models in the range PJ X3131/PJ WX3131 with 3300 lumens weigh only 1.8 kg and measure 272x189x82 mm. The projectors connect via Ethernet, Wi-Fi or USB without using a PC. Either of the mobile models can easily be taken to a meeting or business trip.

The PJ WX5350N PJ X5360N series of standard projectors are suitable for audiences of up to 30 people, with a balance of size and power: 10W speakers and a light output of up to 4,200 lumens. Minimum start-up time of just 3 seconds and on-screen prompts make the projector easy to operate, even for the novice user. Automatic image correction and vertical lens shift also help with fast installation.

Professional models Ricoh PJ X6180N and PJ WX6170N are stationary projectors which are designed especially for lecture halls, large classrooms, museums and conference rooms. With 6000 lumens output, projectors provide great image quality in all lighting conditions for screens up to 500 inches 1270 cm .

Five interchangeable lenses and advanced features, such as moving lens and keystone correction, allow you to configure the devices to work in any room.
