Review of Multimedia Laser-LED DLP Projector Panasonic PT-RZ470E

PT-RZ470E projector is representative of the innovative Solid Shine line based on new for Panasonic laser-light technology. Instead of a traditional discharge lamp, this unit uses a hybrid laser-LED light source. The combination of high-power red and blue LEDs with a laser diode giving green color resulted in a light output of 3500 ANSI-Lm.

It’s rugged, it doesn’t fade with time, so the light output doesn’t dim. Laser-LED source turns on and off instantly, doesn’t need to warm up before use or cool down after. At the same time it doesn’t need to be replaced unlike the lamps – its lifetime is 20000 hours. Thanks to this the PT-RZ470E can be used round the clock, even in applications where high reliability is essential.

Another important feature of the model is the support for the Digital Link transmission technology according to the HDBaseT standard. The PT-RZ470E can receive picture, sound and control signals over CAT5e/6 twisted-pair cable up to 100 m away. There is no signal attenuation or distortion, and the cost of the overall solution is significantly lower than using HDMI cables. The PT-RZ470E works with equipment from various manufacturers – Atlona, Crestron, Extron, Gefer, Kramer. It is also possible to control and diagnose via LAN either with one projector or several by means of special software .

PT-RZ470E is designed for stationary use. The unit supports vertical and horizontal lens shift and permits mounting of the housing at any angle vertically and in 210 degree horizontal sector. The double manual zoom increases a range of projection distances for a projector installation The picture is created by a DMD-chip with 1920×1080 dpi resolution. The model without compression reproduces images in Full HD. It can also project ZD-format images.

The projector implements Panasonic Daylight View Basic technology with a sensor that detects the level of light in the room and adjusts its work so as to make the projected image more contrast and sharpness under current conditions. PT-RZ470E also supports DICOM emulation mode and can be used in medical applications.
