For those seeking substitutes for mackerel in this soup recipe, there are several options to consider based on personal preferences and dietary restrictions. One possible variation could be using salmon, which has a similar rich and oily texture. Alternatively, white fish like cod or haddock can be used for a milder flavor. For vegetarians or those with seafood allergies, tofu or tempeh can be substituted to add protein and texture. Ultimately, these alternatives can be adapted according to individual taste and dietary needs while still maintaining the essence of the soup.
