Epson SureColor SC-P400 – A3+ desktop printer with pigment ink and extensive connectivity

Ekaterina Atroshkina, Epson Wide Format Equipment Manager, comments:

“The Epson SureColor SC-P400 is the youngest member of the SureColor SC-P series of photo printers, but at the same time this device has impressive functionality and the ability to work with various media. This solution is suitable for users who value professional printing quality and are careful in their cost planning.

Epson UltraChrome HiGloss 2 Ink with Gloss Optimizer

Epson’s seven-color UltraChrome HiGloss 2 ink set guarantees wide color gamut, superb photo print quality and high print resistance. When the printer driver detects areas of low pigment concentration in the original image, it triggers a gloss optimizer that provides optimal light reflectance.

Smallest ink drop size on the market

The Epson Micro Piezo print head produces the smallest drops of ink on the market–just 1.5 ppm. The Epson SureColorSC-P400 faithfully reproduces fine detail and quickly prints solid areas, thanks to its variable droplet technology.

Wide range of media

With the new Epson SureColor SC-P400 printer, it’s easy to create great professional photos up to A3+ format, and with support for a wide range of media and textured papers, you can convey mood and image quality. To print on artistic and heavy media up to 1.3 mm thick , the user only needs to open the special top tray. Two heavy-duty media holders hold roll media up to 2 inches in diameter. Users can also print on the surface using the built-in tray.

Connecting

Epson SureColor SC-P400 printer supports wireless WI-Fi connection: by downloading and installing Epson iPrint application, users can print remotely from smartphones and tablets. The printer can also be connected to the studio network using the built-in Ethernet interface.

Among other things, the Epson SureColor SC-P400 is the smallest and lightest A3+ photo printer with pigment ink available on the market. It fits easily on a desk or in the small space of a small photo studio.

There may be some notable differences in the quality of photo prints produced by the Epson SureColor SC-P400 printer when printing at home versus in a professional studio environment. In a professional studio setting, the printer is likely calibrated regularly, and the environment is optimized for color accuracy and consistency. This can result in more accurate color reproduction and finer details in the prints. Additionally, professional printing papers and inks may be used, further enhancing the overall quality of the prints. However, with careful calibration, proper settings, and high-quality paper and ink, it is possible to achieve excellent results when printing at home with the Epson SureColor SC-P400 printer.

When printing at home with the Epson SureColor SC-P400 printer, there may be some differences in the quality of photo prints compared to a professional studio environment. Professional studios have calibrated printers and optimized environments for color accuracy, resulting in more precise color reproduction and finer details. They also use high-quality papers and inks, further enhancing print quality. However, with proper calibration, settings, and materials, it is still possible to achieve excellent results at home. Ultimately, the quality of the prints will depend on factors such as calibration, settings, paper, and ink used.
