Princess Elisabeth gets Electrolux appliances beyond the Arctic Circle

“Princess Elizabeth” – is a polar station, which runs on renewable energy solar and wind , using only zero-emission technology.

16 scientists will work at the base to achieve a detailed understanding of the mechanism and nature of climate. The main challenge will be to prove that with zero emission standards it is possible to operate even in an area such as Antarctica.

Electrolux was chosen by the station’s creators as a partner, thanks to its activities in the field of production and promotion of energy-efficient appliances. The appliances selected for the station include double ovens, induction hobs, microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers and vacuum cleaners. Experts admit that all appliances are extremely low power consumption.

“We have been given a great deal of confidence by being invited to equip the station. As it is known Antarctica is the last resource reserve of mankind and any technical device operating on the territory of Antarctica must meet certain objective indicators to prove ecological compatibility of equipment”, – says Fatima Gazanova, Head of Communications of Electrolux in America, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

The environmental factor is becoming more and more important to ordinary consumers. 80% of Europeans say it is the energy consumption of appliances that influences their decision to buy them or not. Choosing eco-friendly products is more than just choosing to pay less for energy. It is a desire to express our social position, to support the global resource conservation movement.
