October 10, 2013 – Pioneer announces the release of two ultra-thin AV receivers: 6.2-channel VSX-S510 and 5.The 2-channel VSX-S310, which features high power, extensive functionality and trademark quality audio and video reproduction. Both models are equipped with Class D amplifiers, pass through 4K Ultra HD without any problems and support playback from iPod, iPhone or USB memory devices via the front USB port. VSX-S510 is also compatible with iPad and iPad mini, supports AirPlay, MHL and DLNA 1.5, connects to Internet radio via vTuner, plays high-resolution audio files and can be controlled via the Pioneer ControlApp mobile app.

High-quality AV signal processing
Equipped with amplifiers with 110 watts/can., The VSX-S510 and VSX-S310 are designed with high-quality audio reproduction in mind. A Class-D amplifier delivers plenty of power to each channel for wide frequency range and superior dynamics. Channel 6 of the VSX-S510 can be routed to a Surround Back speaker or passive subwoofer.
To optimize multi-channel playback, the VSX-S510 and VSX-S310 come equipped with our proprietary Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration system MCACC , which measures and analyzes the audio characteristics of a room-to- loudspeaker system, then calibrates and optimizes the sound performance for that particular room.
MCACC-optimized Phase Control ensures that all the speakers are in-phase where you are, preventing unwanted distortion, while Advanced Sound Retriever technology enhances the sound quality of two-channel compressed files, making it as close to the original as possible.
Extensive connectivity
The VSX-S510 as a senior model can receive and stream a wide variety of audio and video content into your living room – with digital connectivity and flexible networking features like no other product in its class.
As part of a home network, this Windows 8-compatible receiver not only acts as a DLNA client/renderer for music streaming to the local network , but also receives Internet radio via vTuner and allows you to receive audio files from phono libraries on your iPhone, iPod touch and iPad via AirPlay. With the optional AS-BT200 adapter, the VSX-S510 also gives you access to Bluetooth audio.
A USB front port on both receivers allows you to play digital audio from your iPod and iPhone, including the iPhone 5, and on the VSX-S510 the iPad and iPad mini can also be used.
With HTC Connect, the VSX-S510 gives users of compatible HTC smartphones i.e.ch. New HTC One ability to wirelessly stream audio directly to Pioneer network receivers without hassle.
The VSX-S510 has six HDMI inputs, five rear and a front MHL-compatible 2.0 Mobile High-Definition Link , so the user can connect Android compatible devices to it. High-resolution video can be displayed on an HDTV panel and enjoyed with multi-channel audio, while charging your Android device. Version 2.0 MHL protocol added support for 3D video, 1080p/60Hz streaming also accelerated smartphone charging. The VSX-S310 is equipped with four HDMI inputs.
Due to the increasing popularity of high-definition music recordings, the VSX-S510 can read WAV, FLAC, and AIFF files up to 24-bit/192kHz, as well as 24-bit/96kHz Apple Lossless recordings via USB or LAN. It also delivers pause-free playback, a feature ideal for listening to tracks that need to be heard as a whole, like classical compositions, concept albums, or concert recordings. Both receivers play compressed MP3, WMA and AAC audio files.
As the resolution of both displays and the content itself continues to increase, Pioneer is ready for the next generation of video – 4K Ultra HD, a signal with four times the resolution of today’s highest standard 1080p. Both new receivers seamlessly stream 4K video to a compatible display, allowing you to get the best image quality.
The new energy-saving ECO Mode, which all the latest models of Pioneer receivers support, makes it possible to reduce electricity consumption without compromising the quality of content and sound.
The Pioneer ControlApp – for the VSX-S510 network receiver – gives you easy control of inputs, audio settings, listening mode selection and streaming content received from your mobile device. Placement in the interior without any problems
The height and depth of Pioneer’s new ultrathin receivers are reduced to 85 mm and 316 mm, respectively.
