ā€œThese head units exemplify the best-in-class car stereo systems Pioneer has to offer at the moment. They give users access to their favorite music and mobile media content on the road by seamlessly integrating their smartphone and car all without losing sound quality,ā€ says Tom Van Biervliet, Automotive Electronics Planning Manager, Pioneer Europe.

Bluetooth

The DEH-X9600BT and DEH-X8600BT have built-in Bluetooth support, allowing you to make hands-free calls and listen to streaming audio from compatible mobile devices1. Both feature an external microphone and Bluetooth voice control when connected to an iPhone 3GS and up . User can make a call, select a playlist, track or album using the built-in iPhone voice control.

iPhone owners can also easily set up a Bluetooth connection between their phone and the Pioneer CD receiver via a USB cable. Immediately after connection, users will be prompted to create a Bluetooth pairing with the receiver. This feature is especially useful when you have more than one wireless device active.

Pioneerā€™s new products feature Guest Mode, which lets you instantly remove and add wireless mobile devices connected to the receiver. ā€œGuest mode is great for a family car with multiple drivers or for a driver with multiple wireless devices, as it provides the ability to easily merge or remove devices without lengthy setups and connections.

Connecting your smartphone

Both new Pioneer receivers are compatible with iPod, iPhone and Android smartphones. USB-port allows you to connect a flash drive with music, external hard drive or smartphone. DEH X9600BT features dual USB ports for simultaneous connection of multiple USB-compatible devices or media players. With powerful USB charging providing up to one amp of current, users can charge their mobile devices even faster.

Compatible Android smartphone models can be accessed via USB or controlled via Bluetooth. Both CD Receivers allow you to listen to music via USB on your Android 4 smartphone.0 and up without installing additional apps. Made possible through the use of Media Transfer Protocol MTP , which allows Pioneer to recognize an Android smartphone as a media player. Once connected, users can view and play digital music from their phone directly on the CD receiver.

New App Source feature lets you control your music with a compatible iPhone or iPod touch app on your receiverā€™s display. Certain commands, such as track switching, will also be available to the user from the display. Android smartphone owners can enjoy this function via Bluetooth connection.

MIXTRAX EZ

Pioneerā€™s proprietary MIXTRAX EZ technology automatically creates continuous mixes from the music library and turns the music selection into one DJ set with various sound and visual effects. In the advanced settings, the user can select not only the type of effects and transitions between songs, but also the duration of the transition from one track to another. The new DEH-X9600BT and DEH-X8600BT models also feature a brilliant ā€œcrushā€ sound effect.

Ease of use

The new Pioneer CD receivers feature a simple menu structure and a 3-line LCD display with a wide viewing angle for intuitive operation and maximum viewing comfort. For easy and quick selection of music, the receiver music browser automatically sorts media files alphabetically by artist, album, song or genre. Users can also personalize their CD-receiver by changing the backlighting settings. Up to 210,000 colors lets you customize your dashboard interior to suit your mood or favorite color. The backlighting can be divided into two separate zones to create multiple color combinations that appear or disappear at specific moments, such as when the receiver is turned on or off. DEH-X9600BT front panel, which gives access to the CD-slot, can be removed for theft protection.

Great sound quality

Pioneer equipped its new car CD tuners with a built-in 4 x 50W MOSFET amplifier, a 5-band graphic equaliser and Advanced Sound Retriever ASR technology which retrieves music details that are lost in music file compression or in Bluetooth wireless audio transmission. The DEH-X9600BT senior model is equipped with carefully selected high quality audio components to meet the high standards of Pioneer sound quality. For more system flexibility, both new models are equipped with three high-voltage 4V RCA preamp outputs for connecting additional amplifiers to the audio system.

Appearance and cost

The Pioneer DEH-X9600BT and DEH-X8600BT will be available from January 2014. At recommended retail prices of 9,900 Dollars and 6,990 Dollars, respectively.
