Philips Smart TV 5000 series – go online with a big screen

Philips announces the launch of new TV models of 4000, 5000 and 5500 series, expanding the offer of TVs with Smart TV technology, aimed at users who appreciate the combination of high-tech services and excellent picture quality. The three new series offer a unique Smart TV app bundle, allowing you to watch online content directly on your TV, and recording to USB.

The 5500 series TVs also offer high-quality 3D pictures. The TV sets are available with screen diagonals from 32 to 55 inches 81-140 cm . All three series will be available in America in the second quarter of 2012.

The new Philips TVs are easy to connect to your home network via Wi-Fi. They allow users to access to Internet content and seamless exchange of information, music, photos and videos.

Video-on-demand and video-on-demand services allow watching your favorite movies, shows, sports, and TV shows any time you want.

In addition, the TVs will be able to record to an external USB memory stick. With the DLNA standard it’s possible to transmit video, music and photos from any compatible device.

All series are equipped with Full HD LED backlighting for superb brightness and natural color reproduction.

Perfect Motion Rate of 200 Hz for the 4000 series and 400 Hz for the 5000 and 5500 series, ensuring extremely smooth motion and outstanding picture clarity. This is especially important when watching action-packed movies.

Thanks to the active optical shutter technology in 3D glasses the TV sets of 5500 series have exceptional quality of 3D image transmission.
