IntelliSpace AI Workflow Suite was unveiled at the RSNA 2019 North American Radiological Society Annual Congress. Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands recently signed an agreement and will be the first institution to use the platform for diagnostic purposes.

Versatile solution that integrates into clinical and diagnostic workflow

When implemented in department and clinic-wide infrastructure, the IntelliSpace AI Workflow Suite automatically directs clinical data to the appropriate AI application within the clinic ecosystem, enabling automatic preliminary data analysis without user input. The software then outputs the finished processing result to the specialist. Platform meets Philips’ commitment to provide clinics with open and versatile AI solutions for medical imaging. The technology natively integrates with other Philips diagnostic imaging and medical informatics solutions. IntelliSpace AI Workflow Suite can also be used with equipment from other manufacturers. In addition, the platform supports machine learning of various AI-based applications including self-development and startups using local data.

Philips is a leader in AI

Frost & Sullivan recently named Philips the Artificial Intelligence Company of the Year for improving the interpretation of medical images. This is because the company is approaching AI in radiology as a breakthrough strategy in medical informatics. Philips combines AI expertise with in-depth knowledge of the clinical and operational context. The company integrates AI into workflow at all stages to provide a personalized experience for every patient.

“Artificial intelligence already supports clinical decision-making and increases productivity in radiology departments,” said Calum Cunningham, head of Enterprise Diagnostic Informatics, Philips. – Philips is one of the world’s top three companies applying AI-related patents to healthcare. IntelliSpace AI Workflow Suite enables clinics to take the necessary step toward comfortable adoption of AI-based applications, allowing them to maximize value without disrupting current workflow.”.

Medical image interpretation applications and AI-powered algorithms play an important role in achieving the four-part healthcare goal of improving clinical outcomes and treatment efficiency, reducing healthcare costs, and increasing patient and physician satisfaction. As the number of applications and partners grows, clinics run the risk of adjustment challenges and administrative costs. With seamless integration of Philips partners’ apps, the IntelliSpace AI Workflow Suite enables institutions to make the best use of the latest AI-powered apps, increasing doctors’ confidence in the diagnosis and effectiveness of treatment without complicating the.

The following partner companies’ AI algorithms are already available in the Philips IntelliSpace AI Workflow Suite platform:

Aidoc: an algorithm for the analysis of intracranial bleeding, cervical spine fractures and pulmonary embolism

MaxQ AI: algorithm including ACCIPIOÂź platform for intracranial hemorrhage and stroke analysis

Quibim: an algorithm for detecting brain lesions, for classifying chest radiographs, evaluating emphysema, fat and iron concentrations in the liver, and analyzing brain atrophy

Riverain Technologies: algorithm including ClearRead bone suppression, a technology that clears chest images from bone images, and ClearRead CT, which improves CT results

Zebra Medical: algorithm to analyze intracranial bleeding and pneumothorax.

Part of Philips’ innovative family of next generation radiology solutions

IntelliSpace AI Workflow Suite is part of Philips’ family of innovative solutions for streamlining radiology departments. Its implementation is the result of several years of strategic investment in R&D, AI and acquisitions by other companies. It is a set of integrated products that provide a versatile platform for combining clinical capabilities and optimizing workflow at every stage of the patient journey.
