Panasonicā€™s Magic Ball creates a breeze

Japanese company Panasonic presented a new product that could grace any futuristic movie. Brilliant sphere with round holes reminiscent of a bowling ball. In fact, it is a new fan aka heater called Q.

Despite its compact size 25 cm in diameter, 2,1 kg the Q is very powerful and efficient. The principle of operation of the fan is based on the induction of air flows. At the bottom of the device there is an aperture where the room air is pumped in. As it passes through the built-in turbo fan, the speed of the air flow increases many times. At that, additional air is naturally drawn into the sphere through side holes. As a result, the output airflow from the device is much more powerful and strong.

The fan helps quickly equalize the temperature in the room so it can be used in winter to quickly spread heat from heaters, Panasonic says.

And most importantly, the new Q is able to create a real breeze in the house! For this purpose, it is necessary to activate the function called ā€œ1/F fluctuationā€. It is important that the people around you will not feel the discomfort that occurs if you are under the directional action of the air conditioner or fan for a long time. In different operating modes, the new fan consumes from 2,5 to 18,5 Watts of energy.

New Q is available from May 20 this year in Japan. The model will be available in three colors ā€“ white, red and gold. Panasonic plans to produce up to 2000 fans a month. The estimated cost of the new Q is about $330.

Panasonicā€™s Magic Ball creates a breeze through an innovative technology rather than a traditional fan mechanism. It utilizes a compact electric compressor system that pumps air through small nozzles, creating a strong and focused gust of air. This technology allows for a more efficient and targeted airflow, resulting in a refreshing breeze while consuming less energy compared to traditional fans.

Is it a portable fan or does it use a different mechanism? I am curious to know more about its features and whether it is effective in providing a refreshing air flow.
