Live MOS Sensor and Venus Engine image processor for superior image quality

The DMC-G6 is equipped with a 16Mpix Live MOS sensor, which achieves the highest resolution and light sensitivity ISO 3200 and max. ISO 25600 , with minimal noise. The redesigned Venus Engine image processor offers new noise reduction technology that effectively removes large areas of noise, resulting in excellent image quality for night photography. What’s more, the new filtering algorithm has improved the contrast of the bright parts of the image by up to 5%.

High-speed response and fast autofocus system

All Lumix G cameras feature contrast AF. Compared to phase-assisted autofocus, contrast AF achieves higher precision, especially with high-aperture lenses. What’s more, the touch screen makes it really easy to select the focus point – just touch an object in the frame and the camera will instantly point to it.

The DMC-G6 delivers the responsiveness that mirrorless digital cameras demand, taking just 0.5 seconds to start up. At the same time, the clever layout of the controls makes shooting with the DMC-G6 exceptionally easy. For example, the new function switch allows you to control the zoom*, exposure or aperture. You can also use it to toggle bookmarks in menus or zoom in playback mode.
