Sony’s photography department has been focusing on very successful mirrorless cameras in recent years, but the company has something to please the customer in the SLR segment as well. True, Sony’s DSLRs are unusual: they all feature a fixed, translucent mirror, which reduces vibration and increases shooting speed.

Sensors in both models have the same resolution, but different: in novelty pixels adjoin to each other without a gap. The A77 II has a radically redesigned autofocus system, now it involves as much as 79 points a record to date, although some professional models have more cross points than 15 on the A77 II . The autofocus system has 15 points, including 3 cross-type AF points, and continuous and fairly fast autofocus is supported when shooting movies. The 20 megapixel sensor is stabilized and works effectively with all lenses. The LCD screen is tiltable, which is handy when shooting from unusual angles.
