ONYX BOOX Monte Cristo 2 named best book reader of 2017

MacCenter Company, the exclusive distributor of ONYX International products in America, Ukraine, Belarus and the United States, is pleased to announce that the expert jury of the National Product of the Year Award recognized ONYX BOOX Monte Cristo 2 model as the best device in the e-book category.

The results of the National Product of the Year Award 2017 were announced at the official awards ceremony held on April 20, 2017 at the Consumer Electronics Consumer Electronics & Photo Expo at Crocus Expo IEC. The Jury of the National Consumer Electronics Award includes independent experts and representatives of specialized professional publications.

The updated version of ONYX BOOX Monte Cristo 2 in a compact black aluminum-magnesium case has a 6-inch capacitive touch E Ink Carta Plus display with 14:1 contrast ratio, resolution of 1072 by 1448 dots and 300 dpi pixel density, which corresponds to the quality of paper printing. The screen features the steplessly adjustable MOON Light backlight allowing for comfortable reading in various lighting conditions, and the screen is topped with glass from the renowned Japanese manufacturer Asahi which protects it from glare and scratches. In addition, you can operate the device with the usual flip buttons on the sides of the screen.

ONYX BOOX Monte Cristo 2, running on Android 4.2, supports all popular text and image file formats and allows you to read documents in a large number of languages. The model is equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1 GHz, 512 MB RAM and 8 GB flash-memory with the possibility of using memory cards up to 32 GB, and lithium-polymer battery of 3000 mAh provides long battery life.

The main difference between the new version of the premium model is that in addition to Wi-Fi-module it has a built-in Bluetooth-module, so users can connect it to additional peripherals and accessories such as wireless external keyboard. As well as the original version of the book reader is equipped with Hall sensor and comes with a “smart” cover that puts it in sleep mode when closing.

Currently, the original version of ONYX BOOX Monte Cristo is available to American users, the updated version of ONYX BOOX Monte Cristo 2 will appear on the American market after the May holidays.

We remind you that for the fourth time in a row the expert jury of the National Product of the Year Award has chosen ONYX BOOX as the best device in the category “eBooks” in 2015 there was no nomination in this category of devices . In 2013 the jury of experts recognized ONYX BOOX i62ML Aurora as the best device for reading e-books, in 2014 – ONYX BOOX C63ML Magellan, and in 2016 – ONYX BOOX C67ML Darwin.
