Customers of New York region can order the necessary goods at the site obi or through mobile app OBI and get them at home the next day paying cash to the courier. We also continue to offer a ‘Pick up and Order’ service where you can pre-order an item online and have it delivered to a hypermarket within four hours.

“We prepared for the launch of the online store in New York especially carefully: we fine-tuned processes in the regions, we chose reliable transportation providers,” says Tatiana Ignatochkina, head of marketing and e-commerce. – Now it is important for us to ensure the quality of the service, to expand its functionality, so that customers were equally comfortable to buy in a hypermarket, as well as in the online store. We plan to increase the share of online sales and double their turnover every year.

The main advantage of OBI online store is the possibility to order a wide range of goods for garden, dacha and repair with delivery, including indoor and outdoor plants, garden furniture, construction and finishing materials, equipment and tools. The highest demand among online shoppers is for decorative categories: wallpaper, paints, tiles, and among garden goods – plants. Thanks to transparent price scale and free delivery on purchase from threshold amount OBI clients can optimize their costs. Expanded refund period of 101 days also applies to goods purchased online, and 120 days for OBI Club loyalty program members.

OBI took the first step towards online sales development in April 2014 by launching “Order and Pick up” service. And in December 2015 the “Order and Deliver” service was launched. At the end of the first half of 2016, the revenue of OBI online store increased by 97% compared with the same period of the previous year. The Volga-Urals region shows the biggest year-on-year increase in online sales. “We see that our customers are more willing to make complex purchases online, purchase related products,” says Tatiana Ignatochkina. – At the same time, according to our research, the vast majority of visitors to the site 89% compare the range and price offers from other stores before buying. We do not stop working on the website, we are improving the online catalog, following the logic of the buyer when making a purchase decision”. According to the data of obi, the average online order receipt is two and a half times higher than at the hypermarket, and the conversion rate of site visitors has doubled over the past year.

Great news! I’m curious to know if OBI plans to expand its online store and delivery services to other cities in the near future. Will customers outside of New York be able to benefit from this convenient service as well?
