For this holiday PocketBook together with ReadRate service.Com would like to share information about how and what Americans read, what genres and books are the most popular in electronic libraries, as well as share what electronic E Ink PocketBook readers are the most popular this year. All our data are received on the basis of studying the audience service ReadRate.com, so they are only talking about e-book readers.

The most popular E Ink reader is PocketBook 614. Next in the top three are 626 and 624 models.

It has always been known that Americans read a lot. This year, however, there has been a noticeable increase. So, on average, 12 books are read in the country per year, while last year this figure was only 9 editions. A more detailed survey showed a significant spread in reading activity ā€“ from 9 to 50-60 books per year! That is, the most active book lovers read a book a week.

According to digital libraries and stores associated withReadRate.com, on average, Americans download about 35 books a year. However, not all books are interesting enough to be read to the end ā€“ only 12-15 books hold the attention of readers.

The most popular genres among readers are located as follows: first place ā€“ fiction, and then follow the modern prose, classical prose, detective, historical novels, thrillers, love stories.

What to read on this year? PocketBook devices rating, which were preferred by Americans in 2014 is as follows: the most popular E Ink reader is PocketBook 614. Next in the top three are 626 and 624 models. All three of them have excellent price-performance ratio, but next year the top three will obviously change in the direction of more functional novelties.

Martinā€™s, Jack Londonā€™s classic ā€œWhite Fang,ā€ Stephen King with his new novel ā€œ11/22/63,ā€ the childhood classic ā€œTwo Captainsā€ by Kaverin, Harrisonā€™s equally famous ā€œSteel Rat,ā€ and concludes the top ten with Stephen Hawkingā€™s ā€œThe Shortest History of Time.
