Everyone probably remembers duck in foil with apples from the oven, but try chicken and quince from the multicooker. So yummy, you’ll swallow your tongue.
We wanted a juicy meat according to grandma’s recipe, but it’s much harder to find a fresh duck carcass than a chicken in the store, so we completely reworked the recipe, replacing absolutely everything in it! We change the duck for chicken, apples for quinces, and the oven for the multicooker.
We will need:
– A medium-sized chicken
– quince 1 pc large
– Onions 1 head
– tomato 1 piece
– bell peppers
– Salt, pepper, honey to taste.
Prepare
Wash the chicken in cold water, cut it, cut the wings and shin, cut the breast off, halve the body. Cut quince in half, remove seeds and cut into thin slices 0,2-0,4 cm. Peel the onions and cut them in half rings. Cut bell bell pepper into 1,5-2 cm cubes, dice tomato slices. The chicken should be coated in spices and salt.
In a bowl put the first layer of onion and peppers, then the chicken, in the middle a layer of quince, chicken and tomato again, dissolve a spoon of honey in a glass of water and pour the dish.

Turn the “Stew” mode on for 60 minutes. The meat is sweetish-spicy and juicy and the quince gives the meat a unique flavor. You can sprinkle it with greens.
The chicken is ready! Great for serving with mashed potatoes, baked potatoes or rice.
P. S.
Quince is a useful product for dietary nutrition, it does not contain cholesterol, fat and sodium, while it is rich in fructose, glucose, pectin compounds, citric, malic and tartaric acid, salts of potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, copper and dietary fiber fiber . Of vitamins, quince has a significant amount of provitamin A and vitamins C, E, B1, B2, B6, PP.

What is the flavor combination like when chicken is paired with quince instead of the traditional duck and apples? Is it a common dish in any specific cuisine? I’m curious to know if it’s a savory or sweet combination and if the flavors complement each other well.
