Nikon introduces NX TETHER and NX MOBILEAIR ā€“ software to optimize the work of professional photographers

Nikon is pleased to announce the release of NX MobileAir, a smartphone app that automatically transfers images from Nikon digital cameras to an FTP server, bypassing the PC. The company also introduces NX Tether, a handy PC-connected shooting software. It allows you to change Nikon digital camera settings on your computer and supports remote shooting.

NX MobileAir is a smartphone app that allows professional photographers to quickly and securely transfer images to their phone while shooting. When you connect your Nikon digital camera to your smartphone with a USB cable, images are automatically transferred to your smartphone, along with IPTC metadata, right when youā€™re shooting.

With support for an FTP server pre-configured in the app, the transfer process takes even less time. Users can also choose how files are transferred: automatically or manually. Manual transmission is suitable if you want to select and process individual images or transmit audio notes with the files to your smartphone with instructions on how to change IPTC data.

The app allows you to transfer images from your smartphone and pictures taken with digital cameras from other manufacturers to an FTP server. You can easily and conveniently process photos on your smartphone if you canā€™t bring your laptop or have nowhere to set it up.

NX Tether is PC software that allows photographers to connect the Nikon camera to a computer or USB device wirelessly or over a wired LAN. The program has an intuitive interface that provides basic functions for shooting with a PC connection, allowing you to change camera settings without unnecessary manipulation. The control panel can be minimized to create space for viewing images.

If there is a problem with the file transfer, an error message is displayed and a characteristic sound is heard. This allows photographers to focus on taking pictures and not be distracted by transferring files, especially when away from the computer. The software easily communicates with Nikonā€™s NX Studio and third-party imaging tools, including Lightroom, Photoshop, and CaptureOne, making shooting easier.

Availability

NX Tether software can be downloaded from Nikonā€™s Download Center. NX MobileAir app will be available to European users on Google Play and App Store in 2022.
