Marina Gurevich, manager of Nikonā€™s European product marketing division: ā€œThe Nikon D5200 camera is ideal for passionate photography fans who love to experiment with the latest features and capabilities. Impressive picture and video quality combined with the vari-angle LCD monitor gives you the creative freedom to shoot.

Fascinating image quality

The Nikon D5200 is the third camera in the series, following the D5000 and D5100. It greatly outperforms its predecessors in image quality. In addition to a 24.1-megapixel DX CMOS sensor for superior image detail, this camera uses the new EXPEED 3 image processor.

Fast response time and excellent, rich color reproduction, plus extensive movie recording capabilities. High ISO sensitivity 100-6400 with an option to increase up to 25600 allows you to take great photos in dark and low-light environments, as well as sharp photos of fast-moving subjects.

The Nikon D5200 uses the same autofocus system, exposure metering, and scene recognition system as the Nikon D7000. All of which puts the new camera far ahead of its predecessor in terms of both performance and image quality.

The high precision of the 39-point AF system with nine cross-type sensors delivers exceptionally sharp images by sharply focusing on the selected subject.

In doing so, the 2016-pixel RGB exposure metering sensor feeds accurate data to a scene recognition system that optimizes exposure, focus and white balance just before the shutter is released.

Special effects can be applied in real time to stills and movies in Live View, meaning you can see what your creation will look like before you release the shutter.

HDR and D-lighting modes let you capture detailed images of high-contrast scenes, giving you more artistic possibilities.

The camera features 16 scene modes in which exposure settings, such as shutter speed, ISO sensitivity or aperture, are adapted to the shooting conditions.
