New Mio ‘all-weather’ DVR: in heat and in cold

Company Mio Technology, a leading international developer and manufacturer of automotive electronics is the new compact Full HD DVR MiVue C326, which is not afraid of neither heat nor cold.New addition to the line of Mio video recorders, which use the capacitor as a battery element instead of the usual battery.

Such decision, firstly, allows to make the device more compact, and secondly – allows the owner not to worry about the recorder performance at extreme temperatures. This is especially true in summer: the temperature in a car left parked in direct sunlight can reach up to 60 degrees.

Batteries can hardly bear such heat – they can overheat, explode and even burst, but the capacitor is able to “fry” in the sun for as long as you want without loosing performance. In winter, when the battery loses capacity in the cold, the capacitor continues to perform its functions properly – to provide power to the recorder to complete its work correctly and save the records when the ignition is off.

Shooting quality C326 – the result of thoughtful design and balanced settings. At the heart of the device – the matrix format Full HD with a frame size of 1920×1080 pixels. A picture of this size clearly shows not only large objects, but also small details, such as road markings, signs and even license plates. F2 aperture.2 ensures there’s enough light on the sensor even at dusk and at night, while the infrared filter reduces digital noise in the frame. Glass lens doesn’t scratch or become cloudy with time. All of which enables the C326 to capture clear, crisp and detailed video which will make a decisive argument in any traffic dispute.

It almost always operates in automatic mode. The black box begins recording itself as soon as the ignition is turned on. Moreover, the device is capable of selecting important segments of the video by itself – thanks to G-sensor. It detects bumps and sudden deceleration, and commands the electronics to separate the damaged part from the rest of the video. Such fragments are copied to a separate folder on the memory card and are not erased when re-recorded. In standard situations the recorder doesn’t show itself at all and even turns on the screen saver, so as not to distract the driver while driving. Comes with a convenient swivel mount, and the proprietary MiVue Manager software lets you manage recorded files and retrieve data from the G-sensor.

Price and availability

Video recorder MiVue C326 is already on sale at a price of 4 550 Dollars.
