Leica Camera AG introduces the M10-R, a new version of the legendary rangefinder camera that takes image quality to a new milestone. The upgraded M10-R has 40 megapixels, nearly double the resolution of the M10. The Leica M10-R opens up a whole range of possibilities for the photographer that were not possible with previous M-Series cameras.
The high resolution of the sensor ensures that even the smallest of details can be captured and that the camera can be cropped without loosing image quality. High sensor contrast also helps reduce moiré patterns in delicate structures. This makes the M10-R ideal for both landscape and architecture photography.
Despite its high resolution, the M10-R offers significantly reduced image noise, as well as a wider dynamic range. The M10-R complements the Leica M10 family, which also includes the M10, M10-P, M10-D and M10 Monochrom.
ISO range of the Leica M10-R from 100 to 50,000. M10-R has a longer maximum exposure time of 16 minutes, so you can get great night shots when using a tripod. The Leica M10-R features the same quiet shutter as the M10-P: the shutter is released almost silently and with minimal vibration.
As with the rest of the Leica M-Series, the M10-R is assembled by hand by highly skilled workers in a production facility in Germany. That’s because a host of mechanics, like the sophisticated rangefinder, not only perform their functions superbly, but also have a high margin of safety. Leica M-Series is synonymous with reliability and durability, making it a valid and long-term investment.
The Leica M10-R makes the most of the Leica M-series lenses, bringing out the unique optics of these legendary lenses to their full potential. Photos with the famous pattern, plasticity and sharpness are obtained primarily by using the latest generation of lenses, such as APO-Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH. At the same time, the M10-R retains the distinctive features of the previous M-series lenses, which have been held in high regard by photography enthusiasts around the world for more than 60 years.
